Hi guys i just brought a blitz bov with the pipe, and i want to install it but have no clue. Ive got a R33 series 2.

Ive got a stock bov at the moment that is plumb back and i need to know how to connect all the tubes.

The blitz bov is a atmos so no plumb back. The blizt bov will connect from the intercooler to the pipe where the stock bov connects to this is right underneth the air filter.

What i need to do is:

1. I want to know what lines goes where.

2. I want to leave the stock bov intact but somehow block it off so it does no work no more. How do i do that?

3. What do i do with the plumb back bit?

Please educate me on how to install my bov. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Ive put up some pics hopefully it would help out to explain my situation.

Thanks for the help guys!

hey mate.

first of all if you look at the smaller vaccume line running to your stock bov, that is the 1 to connect to the blitz. As 4 the plumb back piping, however you want to block it off really, i just cut the plumb back softer pipe down and put a plug in the end with a clamp holding it in and another clamp holding it to the solid piping! As far as i know the stock valve will have to be removed and a plate made up out of 3mm steel, then cut a gasket so no vaccume leaks occor!

hope this helps ya out!

Brett

first thing first.

If you are in Sydney, I'll help you do it on a weekend or something if you are too worried about it.

that said, if you want to do it yourself.. . here goes.

that pipe that your blitz bov is on, is a direct replacement of a pipe in your car.. probably the one that goes from TURBO to INTERCOOLER.

so just un clamp and remove old one and put that one in.

now.

the stock bov.

you need to block it off. if you don't want to make an adapter plate (fancy word for piece of metal) then you need to block it with something else.

either way, you have to remove it first.

to remove it, take off the THIN hose on top of it. take it's clamp off and slide it off the bov's nipple with pliers.

then take the LARGE plumback hose off. remove clamp and pull hose off.

the bov should be sitting there with nothing attached to it.

2 bolts hold it in place. take them off and the bov comes off.

when you have it off the car, look under it. see that large hole and the little hole to the side.. they need to be blocked off. Most people just trace the outline of the base of the bov on to a piece of metal and cut it out. then mark where the holes for the bolt go and drill them out.

then you put that down under the bov and bolt it back on.

this basically blocks off the bov.

now the LARGE return hose needs to be plugged up too.

many options there.

I believe that a D size battery fits..

you then use the clamp that was being used to connect it to the bov, to hold the battery clamped in there.

the THIN hose on the top of the bov will be used for your new blitz bov.. or at least where it comes from.

your blitz bov will need a vacuum source to work. so you may need to get a new length of hose to go from where the stock bovs THIN hose plugs in to the plenum, all the way across to your blitz bov.

make sure everything is bolted in properly and tightly and go for a drive.

Blitz bov should make a psshhh sound.

if you hear a fluttering sound at anything under 3 psi, that's fine.

if you hear fluttering at full boost then you will need to adjust the bov a little. the adjuster should be a screw ON TOP of the piston.. unscrewing it a little will make it BLOW OFF at lower psi..

you will need to find a setting where it blows off properly and doesn't make the car stall.

NOW!!

with this new hektik bov bro, you will find that.

1.) your car runs crap

2.) your rear bumper always has black soot spots or worse due to running rich.

3.) your car backfires on gearchanges

4.) you constantly drive hard just to hear it for at least the first 2 weeks, increasing the chance of getting booked, defected etc..

good luck

Hey guys thanks for your replys, ive installed the bov already. Ive blocked off the plumb back bits using the camera film cases which was a perfect fit. The stock bov is still intact but all the lines going to it has been blocked off. The bov makes a whipping sound (quite loud) and flutters under low boost.

I need to adjust it more so that it blows off at lower boost.

Thanks GTST your instructions were clear and results were as you predicted.

[hey mate got the exact same bov and pip however i find mine isnt that loud after hearing a friends SSQ let me knwo what it sounds like after u hav adjusted it]

Hey sammie just to reply to your message the sound i got out of the bov was pretty loud. It might not be the loudest thing you hear but it gives off a stong whipping noise (cccchiishhhh). There are 3 different insert trumpets for the blitz bov, theres a air filter like, a normal trumpet and then the extended trumpet. Ive got the extended trumpet if im correct should make the loudest noise while the others are reduced noise. Thats what ive heard off others correct me if im wrong. As for the SSQV they do make a loud noise i believe my one is just as loud but in another note. My friend had a ssqv bov took of the fin and it was so loud you can hear the car before you see it!

Ok ive just adjusted my bov made it more loose and its super loud now!

What you do is adjust the bolt directly in the middle on top of the bov. As shown in pic!

To adjust the bov softer is to make the stick come out more, by turning the bolt.

Make sure the bolt is not rusty or stuck etc. If the bolt is stuck loosen it and try turning the stick instead.

To make it hard then tighten it by making the stick shorter.

Softer makes it blow off on lower psi - longer bov noise.

Harder makes it blow off on higher psi, on low psi it will flutter - shorter bov noise.

As you can see in pic the stick is quite short so its on hard!

Ive loosen it and now making a longer louder noise on low psi.
