i have a netgear wireless router. And i am less then impressed with it's performance. It stay connected to the network constantly but the internet will always be dropping out. And then you have to disconnect and reconnect my wireless network card. It's a pain in the arse. i've constantly got to be sending or recieving internet data otherwise it will just drop out.

Not happy considering how much i payed for it. but the funny thing is i use it with my 360 and i have the wireless adaptor and it works fine all the time.

I've got latest firmware on both the router and network card. bah

alieware are sooo overpriced but its your money

my mate bought one of there P4 3.6 laptops over a year ago think weighs like 14kg comes with it own backpack cost him 4g had like a 7800gtx or something in it

yeh, but if u have a look at their latest offers (USA) its fairly good prices. I just need sum1 to ship 1 from USA to AUS >_< Buying Alienware form AUS is just ridiculous

OR i just get a dell 9400...

How about this, wireless is shit, so dont even bother, pay 80 bucks and get a line fitted, disable the Wireless on ur router and just use it as a normal router, use ionizers on the cables to stop the power conflicting with the data so it doesnt cause dropouts.

These routers and switches arent magic they can still fail easily, any brand.

That's funny, it works fine with one device but not another - sounds like a device issue rather than the router. My net connection is rock solid.

I have the same issue with my old Billion 7500g and an older Toshiba Laptop Tecra A3 laptop.

Billion 7300G and its rock solid 100%.

I've found with wireless its a bit of luck when it comes to interference and hardware combinations. :)

i call shanangins. It's just soooo easy having a wirless network. means myself and dad can have our computers on the net at the same time. As well our laptop, my 360, psp, ds without having to run around the house unplugging people and all that.

Just try another router, it may work better with your hardware combination.. Can get expensive doing so though. :teehee:

Head over to whingepool and see if any one else is running a similiar hardware and what router they are using.

hell no, sif take it somewhere to get it check out... thats stupid and a waste of money (if you knew anything about me or where i work AT ALL, you would know that we dont advise people to waste money/do stupid things). i ment did the store that sold it to him test it for him/infront of him? (Acer have about a 90% failure rate with dead pixels).

probably better of using a specific program for dead pixel testing (like nokia monitor test) rather than paint.

soz, bit agro, having a bad day =(

Unless its got a few which are noticable i wouldnt bother looking unless u have a zero dead pixel warranty like samsung offer.

Whats the point of running the dead pixel finder to find 1 or 2 that your warranty wont cover? Everyone complains once they know that they are there its all u stare at...

Acer have a 7 day (or 14 day, forgot which one) 0 dead pixel policy, if you bought it from somewhere that doesnt honnor that, meh, can only blame yourself

almost all brand have some form of 0 dead pixel policy, just most people dont bother to check/dont know how to check properly

wasnt having a go @ you fishpaste

clearly wasnt sure of what you were saying :)

edit

you can also sometimes massage dead pixels and bright pixles to get them working i did this with dads lcd

yeah the store has a "7 day bright dead pixel DOA replacement warranty"

i had 45 minutes to kill before the shop opened and i actually though about your shop fishpaste but couldn't remember the name, walked around the CBD looking at PC store name trying to figure out if any where familiar (and i would look stupid walking into all the PC stores asking for fishpaste :) )

there are also programs that you can get that'll constantly flash threw the cycle of colours (black, white, green, blue and red) for hours or days on end, this can also "free up" dead pixels =)

    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
    • Modern oils are amazing. Add tyres to that as well.
    • Probably a smart choice to buy one vs build, purely for the motivation part as you said! Imagine the metal dust everywhere from grinding all the steel to build one. Ha ha ha!   Also, post a photo of your garage.   Mine is below, this is where I've been cleaning and have already half filled a caged 6*4 trailer. And this is after my cleaning expedition mentioned previously... The middle normally has a car in it, but I'm dumping things in the middle as I sort through them. And poor skyline was dusty and has had the lightest few drops of rain and now it looks atrocious and needs to be dragged back out and washed thoroughly! And yes to the right is technically another bay, you really can only see 2 bays out of 3 in this picture.
    • It's more like on average the things I see a lot of things going wrong. Yes, usually the people who reach out are the ones who are having problems but on average it feels like mechanics and tuners here aren't really competent. I swing between thinking my standards are just way too high and wondering whether people really are just this dumb. I just had the strangest 10+ reply argument on a Facebook group over someone insisting that the factory R34 GTT boost control solenoid reduces boost pressure to 5 psi when it's on and raises boost pressure to 7 psi when it's off despite showing the exact plumbing in the factory service manual and the solenoid behavior detailed in the FSM.
