black32. the ps3 is not overpriced, it is priced correctly, go and buy all the units that the ps3 can do as per its specs for under 1000, that and i got my ps3 for 850. 2ndly the games are awesome, and to that, the games at the moment are only using 30 percent of cell's capability. so in september they expect those games to use close to 50 percent and next year hopefully with pro evo 2008 the console will be made most of its own resources by developers.

microsoft knows that the ps3 will overtake it eventually, ps2 alraedy won the xbox vs ps2 war because it was just so popular, but now xbox has released its console early to compete with the ps3 but the ps3's technology is so far more advanced.

yes I have a hd tv, and yes you need one to witness how good it is. if u have an xbox360 how dissapointed were u for being lied to about having a HDMI output on ur console, HDMI ftw. and blueray, you can tell the difference between a blueray and a dvd at 1080p. indeed. the winner is ps3, at the moment xbox360 is only winning because ppl couldnt wait for a next gen console when it was released.

pauly please don't embarrass yourself anymore.

I can easily spec a ps3 for under 1000 dollars. It's called buying a US or Japanese unit. Or you could buy a korean unit get a bigger HDD standard and also pay less. Or you could get the aformentioned US or Japanese unit and receive what we were promised in the form of a EE and GS chipset.

Your take on the games is "subjective" not "objective" the launch was quite weak with no AAA quality titles. That is a fact check the reviews worldwide. Yes games on a whole are more down to personal taste but looking at them objectively not 1 single game at the ps3 launch improves on what has already been done.

And black32 what the hell are you talking about? I've made no mention of game prices. I've paid over 3x that much for games on the Neo Geo so 100 dollars for a game seems pretty good to me.

And to get use of the eye candy you do need a high definition display your an idiot if you don't believe that.

And as i've mentioned numerious times i am a sony fanboy at heart. I'm just not stupid enough to beleive the crap sony has been sprouting the past few years.

how can u say u dont need HDMI when its the only way youll get 1080p on high def monitors.... you are crazy kralster. HDMI is going to be a standard, as its just been proven to be so good. its not sony promising bullshit, what have they said about the ps3 that has been bullshit apart from a few things that could probably be fixed with better firmware...

Yes you do notice a great jump in clarity with 1080p than viewing it on ur old dog rumpus room tv u bought for 82 dollars at a garage sale...

and how the f**k have i embarassed myself by displaying general knowledge? microsoft said xbox will have hdmi... but it doesnt. great. i feel embarassed now.

Why are we talking about HMDi all of the sudden? i see no mention of it anywhere in this thread.

HDMi is not the best either espcially for carrying audio. You will be hard pressed to find anything that sounds better than a good quality balanced imput, or a coaxial digital cable.

Microsoft never said the 360 would have HDMi either so i don't know where you got that. They in fact said that it wouldn't be neccesasary on the 360. I do agree though that it would of been wise to have the option of both an AV multi out and a HDMi on the 360, the same as on the ps3.

Also i hate to break it to you but 1080P can be done over component cables. (you may wanna research stuff before you say it) The 360 has been doing it since Febuary. And the ps3 has been able to do it all the time. The biggest problem is finding a screen that accepts 1080P over component becasue a lot do not.

    • Hi, We've all posted some thread, or know of some other person's thread, that contains information that we want to send people who are asking question to. But if we don't have a link readily available, have to go do a search for the thread before being able to do so. So, it occurred to me that we could possibly utilise the auto-text-replace function that fixes some of my swear words to perhaps auto replace some special keywords with text that also has a link to the thread. A specific example. The thread that I did with the improved R32 GTR wiring diagram scans. If the phrase "R32 GTR wiring diagram" could be auto replaced with "R32 GTR wiring diagram" then all I (or @Duncan, or any of the others that refer to the thread) need to do is remember that that's the keyword (or phrase in this case). OK, it would be better if this keyphrase wasn't that long, but it does need to be specific enough that it doesn't get triggered automatically. And obviously there are threads on turbo topics, or suspension topics that we could treat similarly. Alternatively (and/or additionally), I've been thinking about trying to build a library of the real expert content that is trapped in the bowels of the 25odd years of this site. Things like some of SydneyKid's content. There are threads that he started that should be more easily found, and he has individual posts, or series of posts, in other people's threads, containing very good information. Some of us know that it is there, but....just have no memory of exactly where/when/how we saw it. If we had some sort of library thread, we could put posts in there containing links to things we've found, suggestions for how to categorise it, then a mod or other appointed thread maintainer can copy the link and any key text up into the first post in the library thread. There are probably many other ways to get it done. Some sort of wiki is probably the best way.   Thoughts?
    • But, probably that happened to the last person too, which is why the RTV was there.....if you aren't putting a new gasket in you will need to seal the old gasket back to the metal surface with something, the gaskets will generally only work properly for a single use as they set/harden in that shape
    • What is with the horrible blue and white bit in the centre of the wheels, didn't that come off with some scrubbing?
    • Not sure how broadly you define Northside  but Castle Hill Exhaust are still around and could sort it.
    • I haven't done this as I still use the factory cluster, but I do know the circuits for the flash vs on for hi beam are separate which is likely the issue. The ON runs full power through the switch and the flash uses the relay in the engine bay. I'd hit the wiring diagram per GTSBoy's suggestion
