Cubes
Cable FTW apart from its low up load speeds which is bearable now on their faster plans. If only they had cable running past the front of my place. Madaz
surly they didnt need to change the plug type and could of made it backward compatible with USB 2 and 1.1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108819-computer-jargon/page/108/#findComment-4280962 Share on other sites
Chris#3
Yeah, I was quite surprised when I saw the new plug type as I'm pretty sure I'd heard they were keeping the same type. pkblade
Can't wait for 3.0! Yeah, I can see more external graphic cards, hdtv tuners and wireless internet dongles on the market utilising this tech. Would be good, however, if there were faster disk drives to take advantage of the transfer rates but by then eSATA III (6Gb/s) or even IV will have been released. Dohmar
Yeah, I was quite surprised when I saw the new plug type as I'm pretty sure I'd heard they were keeping the same type. Standard usb connectors have never been to crash hot. the new design fixes a few flaws, namely the snapping of the plastic rectangular guide as well as poor connections due to infirm joints... extra connectors were required for error correction and interleave so they couldnt use the old format. I expect these would be pretty durable as theres no way you're going to jam it in the wrong way (as ive seen some USB sticks done) -D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108819-computer-jargon/page/108/#findComment-4281993 Share on other sites
