i ran suse once looked nice but im too noob to know how to run linux pity it isn't made more like some other broken piece of software some of us embrace

i double dare you to use slackware or FreeBSD :P

-D

finally got round to installing the lanparty x48 mobo

only board Ive ever run that installed everything, running with drivers, 1st go off the bat.

had to update bios (as you should) to recognise an updated-bios 3870X2 card due to the -2on1- display setup

(run the 3870x2 with the 'asus top' bios setup 851/954mhz setup ~ 6% stable gain in performance just from bios update)

very very nice board.

LanParty LT x48-TR2

Intel QX6850 quadcore 3.0ghz CPU

Asus Lion Square cpu cooler

Asus 3870x2 1gb Video Card

3gb Patriot 1066mhz ddr2 Ram

Thermaltake ram cooler

Dell PhysX pci card

3x 320gb Sata HD in Raid0

1x 500gb Sata HD backup

Dvd burner, Fdd, Fan & Temp controller, Vista Ulitame 64-bit

Lian Li PC-V2010 huge-m0f0 tower

G5 mouse, G15 key, Logitech X-530 surround sound, Sonar 5.1 usb headset, 22" proview 2ms Lcd

"spare" kids & wife pc with my other board, also have a p5w dh deluxe sitting here, and 2x dead s900XT's that died whilst on water cooling system.

so my choice water system is sitting idle atm. another day.

Asus P5E

Intel Q6600 quadcore 2.4ghz CPU

Thermaltake VX typhoon cpu cooler

MSI o/c Ati 2600xt

4gb OCZ Bronze 667mhz ddr2 Ram

2 x 200gb Sata HD's

Dvd burner, Fdd, Vista, basic case,

Wolf keyboard, Cyber Snipa mouse, Soloman 5.1 sound, Zalman headset, 19" Cmv 5ms Lcd

grrr too much ebay'ing.

moral to the story, keep on upgrading, buy for cheap and sell when upgrading, keeping what you dont flog off over the years as a 2nd good pc.

better do some benchmarks now. had a 3rd 3870 Ati card, new, but onsold that to my brother when he grabbed a 24" screen.

might grab a cheap $80 3850x2 1b tho  just like the Stagea cant stop :)

    • Connected to plenum towards the rear end. Yes, absolutely required for the ECU. Even Nistune can't save you if you don't have it.
    • Can confirm solenoid makes no difference. I finally removed the solenoid and the wire off my engine loom and there is no issue with boost. Keep in mind, this is the solenoid, and I've got a Nistune. After the boost controller, I ran the car for a day with the solenoid unplugged - no issue. So then I just ripped the whole thing out. Like @GTSBoy mentioned before, the ECU just sends an earth signal for the 2-stage boost. And looking at the wire going into the solenoid, that just had 2 standard wires and did not look important 🤣 As for boost sensor: I saw somewhere that the vacuum line the gauge uses is at the back of the engine on the driver side. I never touched that but assume ECU uses that??? (maybe? Just assuming)
    • I still remember it trying to rip the steering wheel out of my hand when I put it into a 4wd power slide lol
    • Im also amazed how well Attessa holds up to all of the abuse. Especially with the burnouts and crap you guys used to do at Texi!
    • True! I think I'm closer to 06 with the cameras in phones being out there more. And the nearly impossible to use internet web browsers. Or paying for ring tones... Man I hated when we couldn't just compose a ringtone on a Nokia anymore! These days I just hate it if my phone rings, beeps, boops, or vibrates!
