Nice one ! Specs are wicked on that Nightcrawler.

Mine's just a single core 3500, and X800 (softmodded), 1gb of corsair DDR. But it's got about a terabyte of storage and a raptor drive (love my movies).

Madaz

IsoBuster... I don't believe will do the job as you will need something that is able work with the latest copy protections.

Using Alcohol 120% I am able to backup to image but unable to backup 1:1 to cd/dvd. basically its a hardware limitation, some dvd/cd drives have issues with some copy protections when run from a backup.

I can however create an image and throw it on a dvd and then mount it via Daemon tools and it works.

To grab an idea how to backup your games head over to...

www.cdfreaks.com and check out their forums.

Backing up games even to an image can prove to be a real pain in the arse some times. Especially when a game is first released with a new game is released with a fresh copy protection version that the software is unable to work through.

awww plasma sifnt get a 40" LCD 1920x1200 res

or wait for laser tv

I might do. I'd be happy with either a 42" LCD or spend a bit more and get a 42" Panasonic HD Plasma (i prefer the dark dark blacks of a plassie). I'm not going to be too choosey.. whatever's priced right at the time. Might be another year before we see something decent from laser tv, but i'd be happy to wait if it lives up to it's on paper performance.

I haven't backed up anything for quite a while but I remember safedisk wasn't the issue.. Well it was but the games I have the first patch released made rid of the safedisk check as it didn't work with some hardware. i.e quake 4

Securom was the pain in the arse.

But thinking back I do remember a freeware piece of software that was able to grab the DPM data from the disk.

This was back when Alcohol was having issues and hadn't implemented DPM yet.. It may still be around and work with the new versions of Securom.

I can't exactly remember to be honest, I simply bought alch backed up my cd's, made a mini images and been playing without issues since. What copy protections your hardware will have issues backing up is hardware dependant so its not really simple. :P

Mini-images are the go. Only needed to load the game and get past that copy protection check.

EDIT: There may even be a similiar safedisk type program to get past the securom stuff now. Haven't had to look to see if there is. :)

SF2 is like my all time favourite game! :P Should drop by one time if you ever have the urge. I run mame, so all the versions of SF are there (hyper fight, alpha, alpha2, super, etc). I've also spent a bucket load on quality happ joysticks, so it's authentic.

Oh yeah, daemon tools is an awesome freeware iso busting program.

Wanna see my other rig?

I vote for all us sf fans to have a meet at howie's! =D
