Using the right tool he 'may' be ok with the majority of stuff as the previous windows xp install would have installed in roughtly the same physical position on the disk. Then the user would have added his personal files.

Run an undelete tool, see what you can get off.

Myself... I like to run 2 partitions. One for windows and programs and one for my docs and other crap.

Re-installs are then hassle free.

$99 good work :worship:

Ok, my work pc is giving me the shites (well, headaches anyway)

Pentium 3.2 with the standard L775 fan

The fan has gone bonkas and is SO loud. How do I replace it? I cant see how the fan comes off - do you actually need to take out the motherboard to get access to the back side of the MB to undo screws that hold in a L775 P4 fan?

Im a bit lost as to how to take out the standard fan.

i hope this help isnt too late

the top of the circle has a slot to put a flat head screwdriver in it from memory u turn anticlockwise to take the HSF off you will need to do it too all of them... you will know when youve got it right

mine looks a little different because its not OEM fan anymore

cheers lads......... nuh not dusty, nor will I be spraying silicone into the MB of the sole work PC. Ive got the exact same fan at my home pc, both 1yr old, and both making an 'off centre' spinning noise - dropped a bearing ? ? ;)

got a 'golden orb' big arsed copper fan to replace one of them (probably the work pc first, then look at mine at home)
