Mobo CPU and Ram combo

Edited by Madaz

so, i has a small problem.

well, a few small problems.

1. my connection speed is as low as 1mpbs. (using a belkin 54g, a few hours ago it wouldnt connect, period, stuffed if i know how i managed to connect).

2. most of my usual sites load, with the exception of the r31skylineclub... and i know that isnt down.

so, any suggestions and such?

A few things to try off the top of my head...

Power off/on the modem

-If sync/speed is still bad disconnect every phone in the house from the phone line and power off/on the modem again and check sync speed.

--If it improves you know you have a dead line filter (not common but does happen). Isolate the dead line filter by connecting a single phone at a time and calling it with your mobile while watching for sync/speed drops and transfer interuptions.

Are you on ADSL2?

-Change your line profile to a 'reliable' profile to improve stability as they ncorporate interleaving which as a result increases ping so not so good for online gaming but its better than having poor stability.

Changing the line profile to reliable profile works well on those wet days where water gets in to the lines causing a little cross talk that results in poor stability/reduced sync speeds. I've had to do this almost every winter :whistling: Then wait for telstra to get out and fix the lines. In the last recent downpoor the phone line dropped out completely, unable to receive or make calls (no dial tone with lots of crackling and static) I called internode had them throw me on the very high reliability line profile and I connected at just under 1mbps. It took 3 days for telstra to sort out the problem. :S

and ....... Call your ISP. :)

well, unplugged all the phones and such, the connections a little better, but its still slow (>12mbps) and its still fairly unstable, but its better than it was 10 minutes ago, ill call belkin and internode tomorrow and see whats up.

i doubt its internode though, looks more like the routers f**ked, had so many problems with it...

Linksys, Billion & cisco (out of reach) modems for me. I prefer billion modems.

Always have a quick look at

http://cgi.internode.on.net/advisories/list.html?area=1

to notify of any issues.

Most likely the telstra line that runs from the internodes hardware in the exchange to your modem/router.

In the meanwhile if transfers web browsing and transfers are unstable throw yourself on a more reliable line profile (done via internodes web site and monitor when the modem resync's on its new more stable line profile)

You should be fine with the high reliable profile, very high profile may be a little overkill.

Failing that do the usual virus scan & spyware/malware scan.

spyware/malware - lavasoft adware, spybot and the VERY usefull prevx1.

If your familiar with services that are supposed to be running hijackthis is also a handy tool to use. I tend to use all three on problem computers.

try looking @ a Mitac EL80 one of my mates bought one and he was very impressed there is also overclockers AU did a review and other boards that you can google

i had links for you but i dont know what happened if i closed browser before submitting doh!

...so far netgear seems solid...

I've had good experiences with netgear stuff too.

While I haven't used a WIDE range of stuff, the products I've used have always perfomed as I'd expect them to, with no issues.

That's all I really ask for in hardware, and for the price I'd recommend them.

This is usually the part where 5000 people chime in with "XYZ is so much better", and while they may be, until I find a product doesn't do something I need, it doesn't need changing.

alieware are sooo overpriced but its your money

my mate bought one of there P4 3.6 laptops over a year ago think weighs like 14kg comes with it own backpack cost him 4g had like a 7800gtx or something in it

    • Hey, yeah I really like the color. Only paint I'd rather have is KN6, but those are expensive. Right now I'm trying to get the car to the point where I can get it tuned to 370hp so the whole setup can be driven legally, and pass the next inspection that is already due anyway. Beyond that lots of rust fixing I'm afraid, winter project is most likely going to be a front end teardown and fixing the strut tower rust. I know these can be driven daily but I don't think I will do so anytime soon. Will post a build thread soon with a list of issues and futute plans.   Cheers
    • Wanted to reply to this topic. I'm in the somewhat same boat with our Stagea. I'm trying to install a different rear diff. The Stagea/Skyline uses mounts on top of the rear diff for the ATTESA pump. Any way you can relocate the pump? I did find this kit https://theskylineshed.com/products/nissan-oem-attesa-mounting-kit-to-suit-r32-r33-r34
    • So here's the deal, my wife picked up an S2 AWD Stagea. Super cool, clean car. Looks like the owner in Japan went track spec as it's got some heavy modifications including Exedy twin disk, tension rods, coilovers, GTR brakes, oil cooler & a Nismo 2 way rear diff. Now, cool mods for sure. But, she is just using this as a casual daily driver. The 2 way rear is AGGRESSIVE. It also has solid subframe bushings & poly diff bushings. So that doesn't help either. So far I've tried changing the diff fluid to the correct fluid. Even tried a little friction modifier. No help. This thing clunks, skips the tires & has some slight whine/NVH when driving. Might sound like I'm being picky, but just trying to find a better solution. Here in the states, it's impossible to find a Stagea rear diff. No luck. I do have a 300zx non-turbo diff. Same ratio, 5 bolt axles. On the Stagea, you need both front & rear diff ratios to match. This car is a 4.083. I'd like to just swap a normal rear diff into this thing. Nothing fancy. Even open diff is fine. She's not tracking the car LOL The difference is that the ATTESA pump mounts to the top of the rear diff. There are 3 total mounting points for the pump on top of the diff. With all this being said, what would be the best way to go about this? I could remove the Stagea diff & see if I could get somebody to possibly weld the 3 tabs/mounting points onto the 300zx diff so we could mount the pump on the 300zx diff. I could swap the internals from the 300zx into the Stagea diff but this is not in my comfort zone. Is it possible to mount the ATTESA pump to the underside of the car? Sorry for the paragraph. Just trying to figure out how to go about this. Any help is much appreciated! Stagea Differential - Note two top tabs, one bolt hole for ATTESA pump mounting   300zx Diff - No mounting tabs Also found this mounting kit ?? https://theskylineshed.com/products/nissan-oem-attesa-mounting-kit-to-suit-r32-r33-r34
