Tailshafts

Got my box!(r33sII) A step closer to a manual conversion.

Are the tail shafts the same length for a manual r33sII and an r34 one?.

i know the wheel base of a 33 is longer than the 34

So which do i get?.. an r33 tailsaft or an r34?.

what mods are involved if i get the 33 shaft?

I have just finished my conversion on my r33, from what i hear u will probley have to fit the r33 manual yoke(gearbox end) onto the r34 manual tailshaft. Also (couple of other suprises i got) if you have abs, just check if the manual tailshafts are different lengths because the r33 ones are different. also check to see if the instrument cluster is compatable. on r33 the auto has a two pulse setup and the manual has four so if u try use the auto cluster it runs at half speed on the speedo eg doing 100 km/h shows 50km/h on speedo. if you have anymore questions just pm me and i may be able to help you

regarding the reading of the speedo,

CAnt u fix it by replace a specific resistor onto the cluster?

B4, i changed my speedo gauge display from 180km/h to 300km/h

i simply replace a resistor value?

Ok thanks PAL, So i guess its a case of try this and try that.

I'll give it a try, But if there's anyone out there that has done a manual conversion on an r34 and knows exactlly what is needed your info would much be appreciated.
