I've seen it once or twice, but generally i tend to fill up when my fuel needle is just below the half way mark, as my car for some reason stays at full for the majority of the tank and then drops rapidly when its starts getting empty.

hye, yeah i had a problem with my fuel sender, fuel gauge was fluctuating full to empty and still my light didn't come on....

I'm thinking mines not working

The gauge and the Fuel light work off two independant sensors.

Also, coil overs (bumpy rides) play havoc with the Fuel level gauge mechanisim. It's pretty fragile
