Hi folks,

Long time no hear - right ??

What's been happening ?? Buster, have you cracked an 8 yet mate ?

Duncan, hows the Yellow dildo going ?

Maj - is your car still in one piece ?

I've been missing you all !

Well, about me -

I quit my job at Telstra and now (believe it or not) I am a Personal Trainer. I can hear you all laughing now - How did that fat bastard become a Personal Trainer ? Well, lose 15kgs for starters - Study hard, get qualified and buy a PT Franchise ! that's what I did !

And I am loving it - although the pay is about 4 times not as good as IT, the stress is less ! (Getting up at 4:00am in the morning is not that crash hot)

What else, Oh yeah - the girly has moved in - BOY what an eye opener that is. Shit man, I can't do a thing right, my whole place has been redecorated, the dog nearly got kicked out - Sheeeze - the the things you do !

Moving on to my car - Well, still have the Paj - it's a warrior ! haha BUT . I need something zippy. Thought about putting a V8 in the Paj, but it just wouldn't do !

So - since my budget is small - VERY VERY small - What do you reckon ?

I saw a Peugot 205GTI for $1900 the other day - looked OK - Then I got to thinking about options:

Corida

Starion

Mini

Dato 1600

Swift GTI

What do ya think ?? I want something zippy for streets.

This is how bad it is ...... I hired a Triton Ute the other day - and I though it as a rocket ship. I drove my sisters auto Mirage - and I though it was a go cart !

I NEED A FASTER CAR !!

Help me - I am going insane ! !!

seriously though, easy to work on cheap insurance and proven easy upgades, cant go wrong... i want one!

and with the rest, life is full of sacrifices, but you should only make them if you really want what your after (the girl). So I say as long as your happy, then the redecorations and shit are nothing in comparison to happiness. And congrats on the cool life change.

Good to see you're still alive - heaps of the original SDU/SAU crew are either missing or just don't post anywhere near as much as they used to...

Anyway, onto the car: WTF is a Corida? Is it as small as a Corolla but with the luxury (and RWD) of a Cressida? If it is, I say go for that and drop a 1JZ-GTE or 1UZ-FE into it for giggles...

First he tried to save Tibet and failed...

Then he thought...If i can't save the world...I may as well save myself.

      Um. No. Since Matt introduced the TIM it has become a lot easier to deal with the consequences of changing K for AFM and injector swaps. Then, tuning is a f**king doddle. No-one needs to know or care how many grams of air are flowing or any other bullshit. Need more fuel in a cell? Add more fuel. Need more timing in a cell. Add more timing. Need to adjust any of the other tables for warm up and so on? No harder than anything else. Sure - it's not an ECU system for starting from scratch on an arbitrary engine. But then.....it was never supposed to be, not recommended for, and almost never used that way. So.... On your engine, in particular, Nistune/Nissan OEM is about as sophisticated and difficult as banging 2 rocks together. Those ECUs are primitive and simple. There is nothing difficult there. I learnt Nistune from scratch, created new maps with extended axes, interpolated/extrapolated the original maps onto them and tuned my RB20 (basically the same ECU as your 26 ECU) all by myself, more than 20 years ago. And that was long before even TIM.

      Set of knee pads for a R34. Will fit every model I think. Comes with everything except the rubber covers for the bolt holes. Still in great condition.       Nistune needs something like an entire excel spreadsheet in which you build an abstraction layer that converts everything from real units you can actually measure into all of the various tables. The number of unexpected dependencies hiding in how the Nissan ECUs do math is a pretty impressive optimization trick for 8-bit MCUs but good god is it awful to actually work with in practice.
