jko_one
I usually use bp ultimate and got about 400km per tank But i changed to a k&n filter, 3in turbo back and upped the boost to about 10 psi.(about two weeks ago) I am now getting about 460-500 per tank (red light for the last 30km) Everything stock except the above, still using bp ultimate.. I have found in the past that caltex/woolies petrol never gave me as much k's 96 rs4, btw Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108945-petrol-usage/page/10/#findComment-4267246 Share on other sites
iamhe77
OK ..... I'll bite. What's wrong with Mobil? Had a very expensive experience with my old R31 when I was using Synergy 8000. Got a bad batch (I guess) and it seized up the car. Turns out everything from the pump to the injectors needed replacing. The mechanic said it was like someone had put glue on my tank (not possible as the sputtering only started after I filled up on the way to work that day). It is probably a fine fuel now, but you know how it goes. iamhe77
Hard to quantify. Last tank gave me 12.5 l / 100, previously its been more like 15. 570 ks per tank vs 450As I said, I'm trying the 2nd tank now. As to power, this is seat of the pants stuff. I'm comparing with my 200kw ATW zxtt. Still not as fast, but noticeably better than it was. m hmmm, interesting. I know it is impossible to replicate exactly, but are you roughly traveling the same route & similar speeds as with the previous tanks? Need to fill up today... Might give it a go. As an aside, are there any RS or RX owners getting the 15L/100 mileage that the AR-x owners are getting? I only ask because I have never travelled less than 615kms from full to when the light comes on. Even with the exhaust and 1bar max boost I am still getting 630-640kms. Could the Ar-x be thirstier than an RS/RX? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108945-petrol-usage/page/10/#findComment-4267430 Share on other sites
STAG250
I've been shocked at the pitiful range on the fuel light the Stagea has compared to other japs, caught me out when I first bought it. are you kidding? I think it's great I get 80 plus km's on mine Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108945-petrol-usage/page/10/#findComment-4268127 Share on other sites
lachlanw
i pulled the top off the tank one day . the fuel light had come on with in a k of home . we all know how big the tank is . about 3 foot wide and 2 foot long (roughly) (ish) and there was at least 5 inches of fuel in there . the guy that said it caught him out did it stop while you were driving or would it not start after you parked somewhere . coz as we all know it makes a huge diff if the car is parked on an angle Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108945-petrol-usage/page/10/#findComment-4268154 Share on other sites

BigDirtyJase
114.5 who cares what they use at this price That's if your being tight and putting in normal unleaded (has anyone put normal unleaded if so, how does it run). I normally use either 95 (BP 95 Unleaded or Synergy 5000) or 98 (Ulitmate or Synergy 8000) roughly get around 430 - 440 per tank but I haven't ran the tank to light goes on for a while Edited November 19, 2008 by BigDirtyJase Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108945-petrol-usage/page/10/#findComment-4271277 Share on other sites

zei20l
i used a few tanks of 95RON (E10) and it ran fine, but i rekon it had more power with the 98RON i bet they automatically adjust for different fuel levels do like european cars do Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/108945-petrol-usage/page/10/#findComment-4271591 Share on other sites
webng
Well I'll be damned... I've had the last week off work and managed 11.9L/100km in one tank with the occasional boost but otherwise very wary of being light footed. Usually the mrs drives it 5-6 days a week and I get 13.5-14L/100km. What a difference the driver makes! I filled 2 tanks with Vortex98 and let me tell you, my car reeked on rotten eggs, my mate told me that I blew a puff of black smoke when changing gears on high boost and I got ~20km's less for each tank. After having the next 2 tanks filled with Ultimate, no more smells or black puffs & my economy is back to 620-640km's until the light comes on. My last 2 tanks have been of Vpower & have been the same as with Ultimate. I guess that Vortex is a dirtier fuel after all. KiwiRS4T
My trip to work is quite short. At other times I am usually adjusting something like now when I am fine tuning my boost controller (foot flat much of the time) to suit my new turbo so I am getting about 20L per 100km or just over 300k per tank. The best I have ever had is about 13L per 100k ( about 420km per tank). I am stopping spending money on my engine when I install my adjustable exhaust cam gear and then I am going to the top tuner in town and hope to get 200 - 220 AWKW with absolutely smooth acceleration and better fuel consumption when touring. I am using E10 fuel and i have always figured that the highest octane fuel doesn't cost more because it is more efficient. the standard ecu will adjust for different octanes but it always runs too rich at the top end. For those with computers or other fuel control devices these are usually set to a particular fuel so it doesn't pay to chop and change. Tommy G
2000 model, stock standard Stagea Type S; Averaging 420-450km to a tank around town. Got 9.6L/100km on the Hume Hwy to Sydney last month. That sound about right? I thought the highway consumption was not too bad (still pretty dodgey around town though ). Yep Those numbers are the same as my 2000 S2 auto was when it was dead stock; highway figure is a bit better than mine was.
