How long is the piece of string?

What turbo?

What state if the motor in?

looong list

Anyone can put a big turbo on and make 500rwkw.

Doesnt mean you can call that motor reliable

Yeh I know its a preety vauge qeustion Im sourceing a new engine taking my time so it will be a good condition engine, for my 33 GTST and stocking up on goodies to add on in the mean time all I want to know is whats the biggest turbo you can use if you change to sard injectors,N1oil pump,N1water pump, high mount manifold, metal head gasket,FMIC,radiator breather, air flow meter, oil cooler, oil catch can, powerfc with boost controller, fuel regulator, bosch fuel pump,BTMBL split front dump and 3" zorst etc etc... but leave the internals stock?

your plan is very flawed and lacks some important parts;

1) how much do you have to spend

2) what is the car being built for

3) what is your power goal

no need for n1 water pump unless going on a race track all the time (its not suited for street)

no need for n1 oil unless going on a race track all the time (its not suited for street)

high mount manifold is useless

what airflow meter?

why sard injectors?

what clutch?

what cold air intake?

without knowing anything else its very hard to tell you what parts etc.

As youve more than likely allready figured out im pretty new to all this and since im putting in a new engine I just thought Id buy new everything so just went on just jap and nismo and started listing parts and thought might aswell buy the best, what power can you safely push an unopened rb25det to?

max power of stock internals is around 270rwkw

any more and your starting to risk safety

What mods would you suggest to push it up to around that, thats the kind of figure I was hoping for but didnt really want to have to rebuild

ps-thanks for this mate lotta blokes just get on here and treat us newbs like idiots

rb25det

+ heavy duty clutch $1200 fitted

+ apexi powerfc + boost kit $1500 tuned

+ nismo 550cc injectors $1000 fitted

+ z32 airflow meter $450 fitted

+ gtr33 fmic $1000 fitted with pipework

+ 3" turbo back batbml exhaust and 3" hiflow cat $1500 fitted

+ good cold air intake $400 fitted

+ gtr33 fuel pump $300 fitted

+ hks gt-rs $2800 fitted

+ nismo fuel regulator $300 fitted

+ set of good 255 tyres $500 fitted

total; $10,650 with conservative labour rates

then you should really look at brake and suspension upgrades.

with that amount of power, estimated 260rwkw at 1.3bar it will spin and carry on sideways and insist on spinning as much as it can so you really need to work on the suspension to make it more enjoyable, safe and allow it the best chance to get the power down.

hey dude

why are you buying a new engine what is wrong with the current one in ur r33 now?

looks like when I had it serviced some cock jockey forgot to screw the plugs back in, drove fine for about a month and them blew the thread out of no1 burnt the coils and dropped who nows what into the engine, I could pull the head off get it machined put in a hellicoil and put it all back together again but whos to say thats the only problem and then Ive spent more than half the money Id pay for a whole engine replacement so I though wtf not? first I was thinking of the 25/30 build but thats out of budget for me

Manifold - $1200

ECU - $1100-$1800

Tuning - $400

Turbo - $1800

Injectors - $900

AFM (maybe) - $350

Ext Gate (maybe) - $700

I/C + Piping - $600

Radiator - $660

Fuel Pump - $300

FPR (not needed) - $150

Catch Can - $250

Exhaust - $700-$1100

Your well over the 6-7k budget dude. You at 9k before you even start paying for labour which will put you into the 11k or more region

Those prices are retail.

I think your best bet is to settle with a stock turbo for the time being.

Get all the bits save for the turbo/injectors etc etc as you are double your budget before you even start.

Who cares about showing off to your mates. Going from 150rwkw to 270rwkw isnt a walk in the park. Can be the death of you quite easily

1) Have a read of the RB25 sticky thread

2) Have a search on the turbos used (for more detailed threads) and then go from there.

3) All this has been done pretty well before as 250rwkw is common goals.

For SARD - search, the problems with the RB25 fuel rail are well documented by everyone who's tried using them ;)

end of the day, dont get em

im running sard 550cc's and had no issues with them ..

can be more tricky to install.. but once in correctly,. no issues

:P

Not another one!!!!

I know a cheaper way mate.

spend some of your money on a corolla.

then spend the rest of your $7K or so on steroids, hit the gym, get fcuking massive and when any of your xr/clubadore mates says anything about your corolla, go nuts, rip their arms off, and beat them to death with them.

:)
