Airbag Steering Wheel

Hi all,

I have a weird problem with my steering wheel. It does not affect the drivability of the car, but it's just annoying. When I turn the wheel, it feels as if something just behind the wheel is being turned with it. It get's to a point, and then 'drops' and makes a clunking noise. I have a few theories:

1. the mechanism that cancels the indicators once you have turned a corner has come loose and is floating around in there

2. there is some sort of "weight" in there that could control the speed sensitive weight of the weel (ie steering effort required) - weight of steering is still ok though

3. indicator control box. just before this problem started, my indicators started making a funny, hollow sounding ticking noise. they are back to normal now though
