Hey Guys,

Just a quick note, I am trying to put together a drag day on behalf of Autotech Engineering in Granville. We are booking out the track on the 14th of May.

As a member of SAU, i would like to extend the invitation to you guys (i know Mintie and prolly Mona will attend) so that we can mix it up a little. So far we have XR6 Turbos, Soarers, STi's, WRX's, 180's, Foresters and more coming along and it would be nice to see a couple of Lines out there strutting there stuff.

More details can be found on:

http://forums.autotechengineering.com.au/i...wtopic=201&st=0

To make it easier for you guys, here are all the details as posted on the above link:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Guys,

As alot of you know, we have been playing with the idea of organising an Autotech Drag day. Well, finally after plenty of planning and communicating, it is going to happen on MAY 14th, which is a Sunday.

The details are as follows:

* Cost per car - $205 (including lunch and light refreshments - ie soft drinks)

* Pit crew allowed = 2 - $5 entry each

* Spectators allowed = 3 $5 entry each

* Drag racing is between 10 - 4 (lunch break around 1ish)

* Gates open 7 (from memory, I will confirm this)

For this day to go ahead, we will need between 40 to 50 cars. Payment for the track needs to be made approx 1 month before, therefore whoever wants to go MUST PAY IN FULL BY 28TH of MARCH Payment needs to be made at Autotech where you will recieve a recipt saying you have payed. Please leave your Name (or nick on the forum) with them (or send me a PM once you have payed) so that we can keep a list of people who are attending the day. Please do NOT PM me unless you have made your payment as names will only be confirmed once we have the full amount. Names of those who have showed interest will be posted and those who pay will have *Paid* written next to there names.

I must stress guys, the 28th of March is a hard line. If we do not have the numbers by closing of that business day, I will contact John from WSID and cancel the event, so please get your money in ASAP.

A couple further side notes:

* If your car runs quicker then 11.99 you WILL need your ANDRA licence

* If your car runs quicker then 10.99 on the day you will be pulled out for the remainder of the day, as the law requires you to have a roll cage (in which case it was an expensive run - Please note you will NOT be refunded)

* If a pit crew wants to run your car, His/Her name will need to be put down on a seperate list with WSID and they will be charge $100 (WSID rules).

* Due to insurance purposes, you cannot jump in and out of friends cars. All drivers for all cars need to be registered with the officials at WSID before the event.

As far as track rules are concerned, (mainly for those who have not been before) normal Wed night rules apply, ie:

* You will require either a drivers licence or an ANDRA licence

* You will require your rego papers (current)

* If the car is registered in another name, you will need a letter from that person allowing you to race the car on the date. Needs to be signed

* Closed shoes must be worn (no sandles/thongs)

* Long sleeve (t)shirts/pants. No shorts or short sleeve t shirts

* Full face helmet

ADDITIONAL NOTES/ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

To those of you who have asked questions in the prevoius threads, here are the answers (along with some extra info).

1) The day is limited to 1 driver, 2 crewmembers and 3 guests/spectators per entry however so long as we dont have more then 300 people total (going on the assumption there are 50 cars/drivers) we can add people to each others lists, ie, If for example one of you has 5 people coming already and i have nobody, you can ask to add any additional guests to my list. You yourself cannot have more then the specified number of people (if you guys aren't sure on this, PM me). This will need to be sorted out BEFORE the day, so if you have extras post up closer to the date and see if anybody can take some people on for you. WSID will provide me with 300 tickets which will be distributed to drivers and there crew members/guests. Please try and organise yourselves asap to ensure everything runs smoothly.

2) WSID will only allow cars that are NOT cable of ET's quicker then 11.00 seconds over the quater. Vehicles beyond/quicker then that are classed as Super Sedans and are not permitted. Sorry to those of you who have roll cages etc, unfortunately you will not be able to race on the day.

3) LUNCH IS INCLUDED for everybody which will consist of a bbq and soft drink. PLEASE NOTE....money for all your guest/pitcrew must be collected before your tickets are handed out. This will save confusion on the day.

4) Kids can come and they eat for free. There is a limit of 2 free kid meals per driver and we will need to know prior to the event to organise tickets. Additional kids will need to be paid for as per above (PS, kids are counted as either Pit crew or Spectators).

ADDITIONAL PAYMENT DETAILS:

Autotech has organised funds transfer of payments along with over the counter. If you would like to transfer electronically please refer to the following:

* You can pay your deposits via bank transfer to the following account. Please quote "drag day - insert forum username here" when you transfer the funds.

Account name: Autotech Engineering P/L

BSB: 012 357

Acc No: 107 730 046

Some more Additional Information

Some additional information that I have found out:

1) Motor bikes CAN race, however they are not permitted to race against cars. Same rules apply with a bike, they cannot run faster then 11.00.

2) Gates and scrutineering starts at 8am, racing at 10.

I am still in discussions as to what happens if the day is a wash out (rain). I will update you guys as soon as i know (should be tomorrow)

I think this pretty much covers everything, if anybody has any questions feel free to ask.

How are we looking here guys, do we have anybody else thats interested in a Drag Day.

It should be an awsome event with a number of cars, as mentioned XR6 Turbos, STi's, Soarers, should be a Transam......Will be a good day to meet some fellow car buddies and do some legal racing.

I hope to see a number of you attend, it would be nice to see a few of you ladies sign up along with Mona as its not often that I see girls attend events like this.......Kick some Guy ass girls :) ....... Or vice versa if its Mona racing :(

PM me or post up if you guys have any questions,

Dean
