Car comes back again tonight with mesh behind the holes in the front bar and the indicator lights put in.

I'll take pics tomorrow when it's still day light.

Goes in for the full tune up and dyno run in the morning!

I'll post the results up once I get in here to work tomorrow.

Thats the clutch i'm getting except it's been slightly modified to handle things alot better.

Dan might come on sometime and explain the clutch.

But from what Dan just told me, the clutch in the skyline now is absolutely rooted and it wouldnt of even lasted another week.

Looks like a button?

looks pretty much like my single plate 5 puck unsprung organic button clutch but in a multiplate.

its on or its off, it shudders, its noisy, its an absolute bitch in traffic. its there to handle the torque my cars setup puts out you get used to it but why youd sign up for that unless you needed it is kinda beyond me.

otherwise my clutches end up like this

but seriously, it seems like overkill

Belgarion I believe it is multiplate, twin I think from memory, exedy don't make a single plate clutch in a multi format.....

But good analysis of how it will be to use!!!

Unfortantly, due to the old clutch being completely rooted and near destroyed.... ran into a few problems last night when fitting the new one, so a new cover thing needs to be replaced which can be brought today as everything was closed last night.

Had to again reschedule the tune and dyno run again for this morning and have delayed it till next week.

Was looking forward to this mornings dyno run!

Were you selling this car a while ago?

What made you change your mind?

Yeah, was selling it a few months back.

2 people were interested.

1st - applied for a loan but fell through/wasn't approved.

2nd - another person said he`ll find the dosh for it and never heard from him again.

Was going to go for a GTR. But thought I keep a interest in the GTST and see what I can really do with it!

Well.... clutch I will have to get use to, thats for sure.

It is a bit like a button clutch but, can still ride it a bit.

did NOT stall it once last night!

But all up, this car has some serious balls and is running way better then expected.

cant wait for the tune up on tuesday.

gawd that clutch looks like itl be a bitch to drive!! I recently had a brass butt exedy clutch 1050kg clamping force installed in mine and traffic is a killer, feels like theres about 1cm of play between it being full on or off, not to mention the new found muscles in my leg from the weight of the peddle. Not real friendly but lays the power down very nicely  and apparently will handle very good for drifting

So... what's the deal with the clutch? The pictures you posted... is that yours? Or is the link to exedy site the one you have got? Because they are totally different! Has it been modified that much that it is now unsprung? Also the friction plates are totally different... :)

I do have to say from Thursday night though, that it looks very nice. Dan has done a neat and tidy job

    • Hi all. So I have my GTR on the lift and have been working on it a few days and yesterday I unpacked the frontpipe that was wrapped with heat wrap stuff, because part of it was breaking down and soaked in oil. Noticed that the pipe itself does not actually look like a Mines, despite it supposedly being a Mines. But I could not find any fronpipe online that looks exacly like his, and I don't think it is a custom one. My amateur measurement also showed the two pipes are about equal length, so maybe this is just an old version of the Mines pipe? Would appreciate insight on this by the enlightened folks. greetings from Germany
    • Yeah. If I plug the connector in and connect the vacuum lines, I assume worse case scenario is that it simply doesn't work? Yep PFC.
    • I would think that rather than attempting to perform an engine swap, with all the difficulties associated with doing so in a country where the raw materials required are harder to get hold of, I would just build the CA20 for boost, find an EFI manifold for it and either add a turbo or a supercharger. Or both. You replace one set of difficulties with a different set, but I know which would be more fun.
    • Well, a proper aftermarket ECU** SHOULD be set up to run the purge solenoid, same as the factory ECU would, so that the tank breather system continues to operate the way it is supposed to. I have no knowledge of whether the PFC (which is what I assume you mean when you say Apexi) has an output (and internal logic) to run the purge solenoid. If it does not, then given the product design intent for the PFC, which is to be a plug in replacement for the stock ECU, I would consider that a massive failing on Apexi's behalf and would be another reason to think that they were a half-arsed solution to the problem if programmable management on RBs. I would suggest that since Nistune came to market (which is a LOOOOONG time ago now) there has been no valid argument for choosing a PFC, especially if the PFC can't do things like this.   **ie, Haltach, Link, Motec, etc
