Its not a FI topic.

Hence moved in here :P

Just remember, 2nd hand motor... might not be in the best condition.

Same with the stock turbos.

I'd be spending a few bob on each

Yeah cool, but all the tech gurus sit in the FI section. :(

Which is why i suggested it.....

cheers for all da info's ppl, i actually called a local shop sumwer south of river in PERTH, da reason its cheap is coz it doesnt come with ani panels... lol so i cant get da gtr front bumper... :'( lol haha nah it sall good, aslong as i can feel boost on my car for da first time.. lol cheers newai ppl!

yea with that, if i wanted to change the brakes i would have to get the 5 stud conversion, coz da rims would b in da way... da brakes rite now r WAY too small, n too dangerous, anione suggest good brakes for gtr's? i was thinking of getting brembo brakes.... for dats da best one i know? (i have no idea how much power my new engine is gona pull, but brembo will make sure i stop wen i want to.. lol)

cheers to all da suggestions, animore would b great

Put it simply...

you'd be better off selling your N/A

and buying a turbo with an RB25, better brakes etc etc etc.

And just go from there.

Solid performance can be had out of an internally stock RB25 for the street

i COULD do that, but it would take out the challenge of doing this actual project. i wanna see how much a GTS can pull wen u do a GTR conversion, and its never been done in my area. this car has been good to me, and im just doing it a favour by giving her more attention.

cheers for the advice tho.

Challenge? Are you doing the work yourself?

You said "installed" so i would assume not. Hardly a challenge.

Actually... the only challenge i see is how much money you can waste :D

You also have to think about diffs, clutches and other things like that, not just the motor and brakes, then the Engineers Certification and all the other stuff. It adds up to double what you initially plan

I'm very confident it'll be over 10k without even getting into the problems you can encounter... i know, im doing an RB26 conversion at the moment.

If there was a HR for sale with an solid RB26, i'd buy that in a heartbeat but im not so lucky :turned:

A RB26 in a GTS wont pull anymore and a RB26 in a GTR, hope you realise that. :D

I would be willing to bet you'd be able to find a nicely modified RB25 R33 for less than the RB26 conversion + all supporting gear/paperwork/time

Remember, always cheaper to buy something already done, saves time and money :D

Just some more thoughts for ya if you are on a budget
