I have just bought a water/meth kit and looking to install same in near future. Just need to find supplier for methanol probably looking to buy in 20 or 50l at a time. Also where is cheapest place to get distilled water from? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Thanks KamikazeR33 going through vp fuels $90 delivered for 60L. Going to see how well the system works on my supra first before getting one on GTR.

Looks like good option water/meth kit for safer higher boost on the stock turbo's. also getting FMIC and has cold air intake and hoping to run 17-18psi.

also another option worth looking at using is ELF LMS fuel. if u take a look at the elf aus website (i think it was this one) it has a good document that they tested this fuel on a street soarer with a bigger turbo which gained quite alot of power and burnt cleaner meaning less heat for the engine and turbo

from memory it was around 300 for a 50l drum

Called ELF only do methanol in 200l. Not going to pay $6 a litre for fuel. Water/meth kit add $3-6 a tank of fuel for 5 extra octane and have the cooling to boot.

With Supra ceramic turbos was told by ICE that 16psi fine with good FMIC. Thus with having FMIC and water/meth kit which cools as well if not more than a FMIC and extra octane 1-2 extra psi should be alright. If it can't handle it well I will just have to replace them with GT35R.

It is my misses car and she will be happy with anything over 260rwkw.

yes however a FMIC wont cool the exhaust gas charge down, a FMIC only cools the compressed intake charge. whilst water/meth will certainly drop the exhaust gas temps a little you are leaving your ceramic wheels at mercy, if they let go you can certainly damage your engine as the cermic will get sucked through and you may be up for a rebuild. not against it at all, just letting you know its common for this to happen.

user up's boost on 15 year old turbochargers (or 11 years) and the heat causes the ceramic wheels to let go and then its time for a rebuild

shaft speed is a killer of ceramic wheels also.....you can't generate more boost without increasing shaft speed

Definely don't want to stuff engine will only go as high as ICE recommends as I know they have good rep for tuning cars for safety as well as power. May then run 16psi just have extra octane and cooling not a bad thing, also good if I change turbo to run higher boost as heard that anythin over 22psi a struggle on pump fuel. If i do go gt35R or similiar later on would like to be able to get most from turbo.

Could R34N1 be made to fit onto supra set up? Might be idea for me put them on supra and get T04Z for my GTR a win all round I think.

going from the standard twins to a gt35 will require a hefty price tag given the stuff youll have to change. airflow makes power not boost, so you should look at taking off the exhaust restriction as much as possible. if you are looking at upgrading the twins look in the forced induction section under the RB26 turbo upgrade thread for some good combinations.

do you have n1's on at the moment or stock twins?

Have R34N1s on GTR was thinking if possible swap them onto Supra and get T04Z for GTR. That would give supra 300+ would need pump/injectors though but good spooling set up as car auto. Then go 400+ on gtr already has mods in place to handle that power. Sorry to talk about supra stuuf on forum but learnt lots here and supra forums are no help they all want T88 setups with 500+KW for some reason good luck handling that in rwd.

ah okay, i thought you had the stocker twins still. then yeah that boost pressure may be ok on the n1's if they are the steel wheel variant. no problems talking about supra stuff, just not sure how many members can offer help/feedback. my advice would be to read up the rb26 turbo upgrade thread and some of the popular rb26 threads in the forced induction

that also makes sense too, thanks paul.

yours suffered oil feed starvation didnt it when you had a failure?

Yeah they don't like not getting oil.....centre bearing collapses due to melting...upgrade on its way!

Just to clarify N1's fitted to GTR now and Supra has stock ceramic turbos. GTR just had engine re-build, forged internals,N1 oil pump, N1 bearings, metal head gasket, blue printing, new crank and new belts. Wish I had done cams but couldn't afford it. Didn't plan on re-build bought car through dealer found detonated piston so repaired same but I paid for upgraded parts. Got the parts to strengthen engine.

Got a pair of near new 260deg tomei cams if yr interested in completing the package
