I drive a pretty stock manual R33 GTS-t, and i know that putting on the air-con is a major power drain, but it seems when it's on in my car the clutch also feels different, like the friction point has moved or something. Really hard to do a clean change. Is that normal? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Cheers!

Switching the aircon on shouldn't effect your gear changes. On sum cars the engine will idle up a bit to compensate but that's about it. Sounds more like your clutch might be on its way out if the gearbox is crunching into gears or the syncros could be worn in the gearbox itself.

It drives fine when the air-cons off though... if it was a gearbox or clutch problem why would it only surface when the air con is on? I'm not doubting what your saying, my mechanical knowledge is just very limited.
