I plan to put these on then drive to the drag strip, is it ok to drive arround in 13psi cold?

was thinking of putting 25psi cold drive to the strip, then let the air out to whateva pressure is best

I run 30psi on the street, get to the track and run 13-14psi then pump em up and drive home.

Over an hour each way - they're fine as long as it isn't pissing down - they're not very good when it's wet.

Adrian

Keen on a set of 275/40/17s - later in the year at this stage (will get back to this thread later on that one). But interested to know how the ET Radial would stack up as a 'semi all-rounder' tyre, and by that I mean:

Drag duties (max' 20 passes including burnout)

~2000-3000 Klms of road use (probably once a month and 99.99% in the dry)

Occassional lateral grip use (ie spirited 'legal' cornering on the road)

I would imagine a 275/40/17 ET Radial would be able to exploit it's soft compound and low'ish' profile (provided pressure is at 32-34+psi) to provide a 'reasonable' level of lateral grip, yes?

Perfect! Just what I was hoping to hear Adrian. Many thanks for the info' mate.

Given my intended usage it's hard to go past the ET Radials, especially when you compare the price to other road legal motorsport tyres.

Cheers,

Matt

How do you suppose these would perform if I used them on track days hehe

Ive got nothing comparable to use on the rears atm, some crappy Bridgestone GRID II

They are good in a straight line, but not designed for going around corners.

:D cheers

well thought so the sidewalls are pretty soft

but they aren't going to collapse and burst if I take a corner hard, right? just like some peace of mind

I can vouch for these tires they hook up bloody good on the street and actually stuffed my clutch on the track cause of the traction - and thats without doing a skid to warm them up!!!

last wednesday i ran a 12.1@121mph 60 footing in the 1.9s - not that great, but the clutch was letting go off the line so i couldnt do much about it the tires didnt spin at all off the line...and thats in a 380rwhp-400rwhp S13 silvia...

using 255 60 16s MT ET streets...
