Ok,

So Viper alarms aren't available any more - and it seems lots of cars with these alarms are getting stolen anyhow. It also appears Brant is no more. Those were the only two alarms I knew of being decent. So what's the latest and greatest these days, and who's the best person to fit it?

I need something tip top. My car won't have comprehensive insurance for a while, So I want to make sure it's got the best alarm protection available.

There's so many on the market now, but what's the hardest to crack?

Anyone had any issues with Brant? I hear in one hear they're a bit unreliable, and in the other I hear they're great. The features on paper look very attractive, but what's the point if it doesn't work half the time, lol.

really at the end of the day its really up to you to which alarm you want,

reason i got a brant is because the installer has done alot of skylines and i want someone thats confident in installing one, dont want them screwing around and than stuffing up half way through the install and having to call their colleagues asking them how to install it.

Speaking of alarms -- if I can hijack ever so slightly -- what's the current go on tracking options? That is, who are the main players at the moment?

installation is important, not so much the alarm.

personally if i were you i would get a cheaper alarm (than a brant!), then find a very good installer and spend your money with them.

a tracker is the best option, ezitrak is a good system.
