To the best of my knowledge, no S2 stagea autechs were made?

I mean, ive seen some with RB26's and Autech kits, but i didnt think Autech actually made anything 98+ (aka, s1)

Having said what I said in my previous post though, you'd be right in 'thinking' that Autech versions weren't made post-1998 by looking at Autechs History page on their website... :P theres no mention. But Carsensor etc all have info for post '98 260RS Autechs. Just depends on where and how hard you look for info (reading Japanese helps alot too).

The Stagea that Andy (EGA41T) has just had imported is an s2, and has a 260RS front bar on it, and I'm sure I've seen pictures of s2 Autechs as well...

There is a lot of difference to having a front bar on it and and being a 260rs! I looked around a lot before buying the S2 S that I did, and could find no evidence that any had been made with the S2 frame as the base, and the R34 GTR engine/brakes etc added. And that's what I would have called a 260rs s2, not a series 2 stagea with a R33 GTR upgrade (ie like a series 1 260RS).

If they exist, I didn't see one in over 6 months of watching the japanese auction market, or on any web page... And the latest real 260RS I ever saw (checking the VIN in FAST) of a proper 260rs (ie not just a few body parts) was 1998...

I'll be happy if they are out there and I just didn't find them, but post the link and VIN number so we can make sure what it exactly is ie not just the body kit!

so im taking it you overlooked this one?

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if an s2 260RS was only a cosmetic update. I doubt there'd be that much difference in updating to an R-34 spec RB26DETT, not with the weight a Stagea carries, anyway.

Didnt happen to look on the Autech website did you??

http://www.autech.co.jp/HISTORY-SV/WC34S00/index.htm

http://www.autech.co.jp/HISTORY-SV/WC34S01/index.htm

2 Models released dont know if there was anything more than cosmetic differences but according to the web site series one produced 1997 series 2 produced 1998

Also Autech do an axis version of the new models website link here http://www.autech.jp/SV/STAGEAAXIS/index.html

From what I can see there is not a specific model but you can order both 2wd and 4wd models in different engine sizes in either AXIS or AXIS S spec with autech tuned exhaust, suspension, body kit, under spoiler, different headlights and wheels and speccy interior bits like tan leather trim power heated seats and other little trim bits. So basically no go fast bits just look good bits.

lol... your post says almost exactly what I posted up earlier today and on Tuesday in this same thread.

Next time I am at MRGTR house (steve), I will get some photo's of this S2 260RS

Black, HKS turbos, HKS Coilovers, HKS 100mm FMIC etc etc

Has around 480hp at engine

Not sure what year it is, but it is a series 2 with a R33 GTR motor and apparently one of the last Autechs built.

I believe it will be sale soon for approx $45K.

You know what I have just re read the entire thread and yeah I basically said the same thing work for word when I first read your post I think I must have missed the first bit and read just the bit about carsensor. Oh well my bad. Least now everyone whos is lazy can look at the links themselves.

Hmm not sure I'm a big fan of the shape of the M35.

It looks a bit like those AWD jacked up commodore's (cant remember what they're called).

It'd be a VERY nice car to drive etc. and great value for money but IMO just doesn't look as tough as our stageas. :)

Plus I think the plastic flares and plastic around the bottom at the front looks cheap.

It may look alright with a body kit but that would be a necessity, rather than an optional extra...

love the wheels, hate the plastic flares (whixh will prolly end up colour coded in the S2 M35 anyway) and I still think the dash was designed by a blind trainee.

As a package though? :) HAWT!

The plastic flares are only on the AR-X model as it has higher suspension and offroad gear. It's similar to the difference between the Legacy wagon and the Outback.

Thanks Terminal and SKA (for doing the pics properly). My missus currently drives a Territory for work and loves it????? but she is about to change occupations so will lose the Territory and wanted something similar at the right money. I tried talking her into one of the normal AWD M35's but she wanted this one which all said is not a bad looking vehicle. Plus it has everything she wanted in a car so for mid 30K she has done ok I think. Many thanks to Craig at J-SPec. Don't know what I am going to do with the ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) though? That's the little thingo that looks like a floppy disk drive beside the DVD.

Cheers
