Urgent Help With R32 Gtr!....

G'day fellow Skyline enthusiasts,

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who would have the answer to my puzzle…..

I've got an R32 GTR and have recently got a problem with the rear 'right' wheel (if sitting in the car) shuddering when taking off from a stand still position. It only seems to shudder when taking off to the right and not the left and it's only the rear right wheel and not the rear left wheel shuddering....

Could this be the diff, HICAS or the bushes in the rear or could it just be something simple like tightening an arm on that wheel?

Urgently need your expert help with this problem.......?

I was reading about someone having a similar problem recently, and it turned out to be the tyre... are the tyres the same both sides, and is the right one in good nick? seated on the rim properly? good luck - not really expert help

Thanks for the reply!...but brand new tyres so hopefully that's not the problem, don't want to buy new ones!....

jack the car up, wiggle the wheel and look for loose stuff...

Did that too....had it up on a hoist and jiggled around the rear wheel and everything seems to be tight.....very puzzling.

It sounds like the diff trying to lock up.

Don't ask me why, but these problems seem to have something to do with the connection onto the TPS - try cleaning the terminals there, and see what happens.

i had this sorta problem eith my gtr every time a put my foot down the car would want go to the left hand side, found i have a blown front diff

Thanks for the advice!...it only seems to do it when turning to the right from a stand still and not left...I had my mate watching the wheel while I drove off slowly and he said that it shakes pretty bad and almost completely locks up and stops the car.

It's fine in a straight line and to the left and the other wheel doesn't do it at all.

Has anyone experienced this problem or an expert on R32 GTR's???....

Yeah im going through that at the mement, front diff needs a rebuild, or in your case - rear!

Have you got OEM suspension?

Check the joints between diff and wheel - thats where my problem became most apparent

hang on a tick. has this just started since you fitted your new tyres? if so i dont think it is too hard to see where the problem was caused. are all the tyres the same size/profile?

Yeah, all the tyres are the same profile and same tyre as I had them fitted in a professional shop and all are brand new and I've done around 1,000k's on them since new.

I actually had the diff out of it about 4 months ago as it had this really loud wyning noice coming from the back end when the car was in motion. It turned out to be the front bearing in the rear diff....might be something in the diff again on the right side wheel.....
