Ok peoples,

i have noticed that on hot days, when i have the air con on (even on half power) my R32 gtst auto, would sometimes be not capable of maintaining idle. the revs would drop and unless i stab the accelerator, the idle wont be restored. this will also happen when i put it into reverse with the air con (need to keep left foot on brakes and right foot feathering accerlerator!) it should be noted it doesnt happen all the time but recently has become more frequent.

what could be causing it to not mainttain idle when air con is on? is it from a worn out ignitor module? or has it got something to do with the tps and my auto comp? could worn out spark plugs cause this?

any help on this would be appreciated. thank you

A couple of things to check would be the iac valve, ac on input and out put connection to the ecu (which controls the idle up).

It could also be something to do with your tps or it's adjustment.

the iac is on the back of the plenum. It can get a bit clogged up so it's usually just a matter of hitting it with some degreaser and cleaning it out.

If the car is sitting and you turn on the air con does the idle increase at all?

Mine does this too, it not sieze, its got to do with the way the mangement system controls the power on idle - after I put the wolf in it just went away but I know what you are talking about. :P

Increasing the idle revs helps too.
