yep, not real happy either. apparently BD4's dont even have the version 2.1 tuning software either so all i've really got here is a big worthless paperweight.

they tuned mine fine and i have a Fcon V pro..

is there a way of knowing version????????????

jeepus! obviously charing you a premium cos you cant go elsewhere to get it tuned. do you think its worth having the fcon over other popular ecu's, given this massive penalty you are paying to have it tuned?

not having a go, just curious

not that expensive...

i got the map sensor and air temp sensor a lil above cost

map over $300, air temp over $100

and they had to install them..

car was there from 9am- 6pm

$1250 is nothing!!

tuning cost $220 for 1st hour and $150 after that

i dont agree with the 220 first hour..

at the end of the day tom said he put more effort into it and it took much longer, so he only charged me for 4hours tuning..

just to note, i gave the car to tom running like crap!!

and the end of the day it was smoother stronger and he had fixed all my probs!

he also said if the car has any probs caused by his tune he'll fix it for free!

hasn't skipped a beat since..

all i was going to back for is to tune it at a higher boost with ebc

price over phone from bd4's for tuning (SR20det w/ aftermarket turbo, full tune from scratch) was $600

this is very reasonable, from memory, price quoted from ICE performance (in melbourne) for install and tune of power fc was around $1k mark for sr20det with aftermarket turbo...

(install of power fc and z32afm takes 30 minutes or so, so most of that price would be tune, not to mention powerfc's would take less time to tune since they have a smaller map size!!)

If i was in sydney, i'd happily use bd4's the guy i spoke to on the phone when i enquired about the fcon's was very helpful! pity i don't live in sydney though...

    • Last year I got a set of MCA street coilovers for my turbo Forester after my son hitting a concrete gutter/wall on a small bridge causing the whole drivers side suspension to get bent because the rain just made the car slide out I love them, I think they were $2400. even had a hiccup of have the wrong hub configuration (my fault) so got onto MCA and they sent the correct shock ends overnight parts from QLD, for free!  I was very impressed with their customer service and quality of the product
    • They've had some weird failures on their brake actuators. One of them was because they added some kind of lubricant to the factory fill brake fluid that aftermarket brake fluid didn't have so it would affect the seals. Another was just mysterious, probably internal corrosion or something eating away at Prius brake actuators. Parts alone for those are a few thousand USD so not a cheap fix.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
