OK.

Watching lots of VH1, MTV and V lately has started much current music discussion in the Playboy Mansion. TB and I know where we stand - what are your thoughts?

Encouraged:

Put forward your likes and dislikes - and any rationale to back either up.

Recomendations for new artists

Discouraged:

Picking on other people. Sure - some people think The Streets are great. That's OK - they're wrong, that's life.

Banned:

This mainly for me - but this is a discussion on CURRENT music. No remissing back to the hey day of the 80's and saying that Motley Crue are the best band ever. We already know they are - no need to point it out again.

OK, and... go

2. 50c and the rest of his no talent bling posse suck even more.

3. The Darkness are ace, but need some dental

4. Madonna has nice pins, until you remember she's a broad minded personty grandma

5. Wolfmother are cool

6. Kanye is cool - plus he busts the moves on Pammy, just like Tommy Lee

7. System of a Down just keep getting better

8. That Mylo guy sure knows how to punch out a dance track

9. Where are the Chems?

10. Mash-ups are the new hottness

1. Bon Jovi are carrier monkeys for about every std known to modern science...

2. Motley Crue were ok, but they need to adhere to their strict regime of drugs for all the stds they caught from parking around back with Bon Jovi...since this problem has surfaced i feel they have lost their edge

3. Thats it, thre farkers dancing right now on tv are gay...cover songs suck, especially if they are wearing suits to try and dress up their woeful performance...

4. Jacky Wilson is the best, even if they did have to air brush his album covers so he looked white to all those red necks who loved his music but would not have bought the album if they had of known he was coloured.

5. Streets are cool, they are poets who will never be understood by those that have not truly tested their own levels of excessive consumption.

6....any dance song where their is plenty of flesh is good...especially that weeknd is here...yah yah yah fun fun fun but basically flesh

CURRENT stuff f*ck you - stop bringing the Jovi into this!

We'll go through that another night.

I suppose the Bon Jovi special on MAX now isn't helping though. God damn they were ace...

Anyway - I just wanted to add that Keith Urban is tops for getting a bit of Nicole pie, but that doesn't excuse his music. Same with that Blunt guy - shut the hell up about your depressing life already! We don't care.

What was that band with all the hot chicks on the other day?

No idea what they were squawking about - but it sure was a good video.

BEPs were cool - and despite Fergie being a tasty biscuit, they are shitting me a bit.

At least we agree the Strokes and White Stripes are OK.

That said, if Jack White's sister rang my doorbell and didn't have a pizza with her, there would be a swift dose of 'get the f*ck out of my yard' handed out.

OK...that dark chap wearing a singlet, he has a few tattoos and plenty of chains...he sucks because i personally believe it should be up to the fans to talk about how good he is...not him and his over blown lyrics ..

That other guy who looks like the guy above and his hundreds of mates that fill the same mouldy, stale boring basket. :P

Streets are really good though...

Maria Carey, aka as Mrs Brisby is the goods. She talks to me on a personal level...

...and i care about music...i really love my music and my hundreds of cds...its pretty sad when i have to have Kate Bush and New Order Tribute weeks as the last cd i bought that was any good was Coldplay.

But thats ok, Streets are releasing a new CD any week..

Are Desitiny's Child still around?

I thought the hot one was doing solo work and making terrible movies?

They others will be on Ricky Lake soon bitching about how they used to be famous.

I hope to think if I was a successful recording artist I'd be smarter than dishing out magnums of Crystal and 26" diamond studded rims for someone's Escalade. It's always about the music man.

* sigh - damn that Crue concert last year was awesome...

You mean the Motley Crue concert?

That was the second show at the Palais - all the cool people went to the first one.

Nikki Sixx spat blood on me. Best Gig Ever.

Looking at current Australian music - Delta should be in porn. I'd buy more of her DVDs that way.

    • 100% accurate!  We are a pack of know it alls....  But, I bet people go to you when they have a problem! I've been on a bit of a clean up rampage too over the past month!  I've thrown more shit in the bin over the past 2 weeks than I have in the past 3 years combined! Anyway, it's all good fun being different! My wife sometimes does not agree!
    • ADHD in all form isn't about "can focus, or can't focus" or is hyper active or isn't etc.   It's all a dysregulation. Either time feels to be stationary, or time just vanishes in a split second. We are either under focussed on the task at hand (as we're over focussed on our surroundings) or we have no idea an atomic bomb went off beside us as we're so hyper focussed and locked in on things.   Not to mention the rapid fire thought process. What it takes a "normal" process to think up a solution to a problem, ADHD will be able to give you 5 different ways to solve the problem, and the pros and cons of each. While we can be highly impulsive and lack the ability to "control ourselves" we can also become paralysed with the inability to make a decision for ourselves. While most of us have an OCD like requirement for perfection, we lack the ability often to remain focussed to get things to a perfect state. Those with undiagnosed ADHD as adults, can often find the last part actually stops them ever attempting to do things that they have the ability to do, as the reasoning is often "if I can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing"   As for projects... Ha ha ha, I still need to take the other half of my wall trim down in the Fiance's office so I can paint it. Need to finish digging and running the back yard drains, my R33, getting the Ninja bike registered (now being sold), the moped project, fixing either of the lawn mowers so they're reliable, along with a myriad of other things.   It's why I've been going through lately and just being brutal and clearing projects off that I won't actually ever complete. IE, moped will go to the tip, or be given away, bike is being sold, Subaru project being sold, some parts for other projects given away. Or I've been making myself focus on one thing at a time, by ticking off the smallest quickest ones first.   There's also a reason by our mid twenties we seem to be "know it alls", as we've all been down some of the weirdest and oddest rabbit holes when you follow the dopamine trail. It's often also why we're more a jack of all trades, but not a master of one.   However, pretty much all of my hobby projects, in one way or another, all come back around to automotive. That's my zen area.
    • Remember reading about this not too long ago. been for sale for a long time  this is like when the wife says you need to sell the car so you put it up for a ridiculous price no one will pay
    • You are perhaps suggesting that it is not a super car? Well....it's not an AU.
    • Dropped the MX5 of this morning to get the hardtop colour matched and some PDR done, they are also going to give it a buff to remove some "stubborn" swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat Over the last few months the poor little thing has copped some shopping centre car park abuse, I try to not park in them, but hitting Westfield's a few times over the last few months has taken its toll, nothing really bad, but enough of a trigger for a "while we're in there" thingie  Once it's back and all the one colour, with a few dents and mark's removed I'll give some of these products a go and see what they're like
