Hi everyone,

I crashed my skyline about a month ago. im in the process of fixing it. the engine didn't get touched (thank god)

My questionis is this.

If my engine doesn't get started for a few months, can engine damage occur?

My mates say that it will be fine. im worried that maybe the valve springs will be damaged or something.

What do you guys think?

theres a way to crank it over without actually starting it. this will help build a little oil pressure and circulate a bit of oil...

other then that it should be ok...

if it were me, i'd just start it...:D

A lot of the jap import cars sit for >3 months without being touched..

import enginescan sit for up to a couple of years..with them you should squirt a small amount of oil through the spark splugs I believe and rotate crank..

to lubricate the bores after YEARS thats fine, but you'll still need to build up oil pressure.

get an oil can and pump a bit of oil into your oil pressure switch and crank it. do that a few times and you should be right to start it up.

but if its sitting around for a few months then you should be fine, just get a new battery in there and start it up.
