well RAin is forecast for friday will keep evryone posted BUT not lookin good for friday night!! 70/30 good chance of not being on. sorry guys but im not riskin it with water on the road.

I'll agree to that also. Gives myself and others here to get our cars back in proper working order :)

Yeah fair enough; I think that Id make myself unavailable as well - got 17's with 1week old tyres on, and brand new suspension setup, which Im very unfamiliar with at this stage (done 5kms on them so far).....

The car feels like a little slot-car racer now, so I really need to get used to the new feel of the Stagea; the shocks seem quite firm, and the swaybars/bushes have really tightened up the chassis, meaning that it feels SO completely different to me atm. Weird as!

With rain forecast, Id be definately wearing brown undies, so I might just sip bourbon at home this friday!

OK, nps - got Gary's (Sydneykids) group buy for the Stagea, well most of it anyway.

Bilstein front shocks, new

Bilstein rear shocks, 3000kms old, Bargain Price

Front and Rear adjustable Whiteline swaybars

Front castor bush kit

Rear subframe alignment bush kit

didnt get camber front or rear, as Im not lowering below 360mm (currently 370mm centre from wheels to the arches at all 4 corners), and Im using the standrad springs as I still need comfort for the family - a good comprimise tho.

All up that cost around $1250 by memory

Fitting cost $250, and paying a little extra to Ryan (see the Mechanic thread) for a quick 5000km service

Add in the $650 R34 GTT mags and the $800 tyres, and Ive blown my bank accoutn WAY out of the water - I redrew 2k on my home loan to get a Hiflow turbo, but got this stuff above instead! LOL :)

Tried the car *a little* tonight, geex she boots up hard around the corners now, the suspn is perfect, the Stagea's shouldnt be underrated as they handle very well for such a heavy car (read: wagon) - Im a fan.

I also have Bilstien Shocks in the 33, but with Lovell springs. Find that it's all good, but following someone with coilovers in the hills is a bit of a drag. The front is low enough but want the rear to sit lower, so i think i will send the rear springs to industrials and get them re set. then she might handle a little better, all in all the Bilstiens are great, not that hard(good for the family..........even tho i aint got one) but personal choice comes into it!!

Nice. Maybe think about machining circlip grooves into the Bilstein shocks - thats what SK had done to the shocks, so you can manually lower the car fairly easily. Works a treat, seeing the Bilsteins have a thick sidewall

Brendan. What you running at the rear wheels on that thing?

In my personal oppinion, with the majority of the bumpy hill roads that i drive on, i would almost prefer stockies... so many people out there with susp set up way too harsh. Se for those smooth city/track roads and end up bouncing everywhere losing traction over the hills roads!

Hi matey;

atm Ive got 160kw at the Four wheels (4wd auto) at 12psi, with a 'conservative' tune; could have had a few more, but Meh.

with larger 550cc injectors and a hiflow turbo (hopefully both at the end of this year), and a new dyno retune, Id expect 200-210awkw..... that'd be enough for me.

as it is 160awkw is nice, a few more would be nicer, along with the MVauto valve body upgrade to punch thru those gears a bit harder.

its all good!!!!! I recommend a Stagea to all Skyline lovers who have a family (yes, my dream car is a R33, but wife and 2 kids means I need a wagon that performs - hell got my bike for solo 'insane' runs!@)

on suspension, i have TIEN hight and damper adj. and my rear is low and rock hard (the car hangs and throws very easily, and is very rigid) good for the SLIDE!!

as for fast cornering i would think medium height and medium damper so car will obsorb the bumps and sit niceley on corners!

VERRY ROUGH BOUNCE RIDE< LOOKS SICK THO ;)

VERRY ROUGH BOUNCE RIDE< LOOKS SICK THO

tell me about it... My ride is sitting a little high at moment... Want to drop the height a bit but then i am gointg to smash up my bumpers etc going over drains!!!!

Fact: V8 super cart ride height is higher than a standard road car height... It is just all of the body kits and other bits of plastic/carbomn fibre crap that make them look low! -- well this is what i am led to beleive

    • As you're looking at using a Link ECU, then large injectors are not a problem. But there's not really any need to go 1000s on an RB20 unless you're planning >>600HP on E85, which would seem unlikely. There are other options for injectors. The Xspurt ones are available from a number of places and you can get them in the mid 600s and 725cc, which is probably a sensible place to be. These are all EV14 based. If you are not using the stock AFM (at all, which would be the case with a Link) then a large turbo intake pipe to suit the ATR turbos is not an obstacle, so you should use one instead of a highflow. Results will be better.
    • Hey guys,  I'm after some advice and this here is the best place to get it imo. I was a member a looong time ago under another account, with a lost email address. Its nice to jump back on and see some of the same names still giving good advice.  I mothballed my car when i moved to perth in 2013, and after getting towed across the nullabor a few times it has officially done more km's on a trailer than under its own power. Now that i have started the process of tidying up and modifying it, i see the fruit available (and the fruiterers selling the produce) is different than back in the day. hence my questions, as i used to 'know' what to get and now, i'm not so sure. Engine wise the car (92 gtst) has a walbro 255, k+n, fmic, cam gears and and turbo back 3"exhaust. Wish list is a Hypergear high flow or ATR43G1, Link G4x and some newer injectors before a tune up. My goals are modest, only low 200's power wise. i know i could achieve this with less, but i've been swapping out old for new where i can. Every cooling hose has been replaced, along with mani gaskets, WP, thermostat and radiator, fuel pump and timing belt, tensioner and idler, and i rebuilt the steering rack. Regarding the injectors, the fruiterers all seem to sell what used to be considered quite large injectors. There are a lot of options for bosch 1000cc EV14's, and i would like to know if that is a suitable choice for my build. Is modern injector design good enough to run these at the low duty cycles that i likely would be? is there a downside to running a too large injector these days? or, would there be an upside to running a smaller injector at higher duty cycle? I can see that there are smaller injectors still available, but the ones i have seen specifically marketed for RB's are pretty large (see: https://golebysparts.au/collections/fuel-rail-injector-kits/products/nissan-rb20-fuel-rail-bosch-980cc-1150cc-injectors-turbosmart-fpr800-regulator-kit), and i dont know enough about them to say one not marketed for RB's would fit or not. I have searched the forums, and amongst all the posts on older tech, I did see gtsboy recommend EV14's, but no size was mentioned... again, i'm not clear on if the smaller size bosch injectors are also EV14's as they do look similar.  also, if someone can recommend a tuner familiar with RB's in the Geelong or West Melbourne area i'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance guys. Cheers, Rowdy
    • FWIW the depth of the groove in the rubber pad is not super essential, the blocks are rubber and squish a bit. If you are worried an angle grinder will make a deeper groove quick smart
    • I mean, if you were to move the jacking points away from the original location, that is, away from the wheels and closer to the centreline of the car, then it will be more likely to overbalance and tip off the supports. Same as we talked about before. I was talking about moving for-aft. If the sill is bent outward or inward, then the car would obviously look unstraight from the outside. Hopefully that hasn't happened either. Again, you can do comparative measurements from the chassis rails to see if there is much deflection.
    • Can you elaborate what you mean with your first sentence? I meant move as in the bulge kinda seemed like it got pulled "outward" meaning it got pulled down and to the side with the jacking rail itself, so the load bearing bulge now sits lower than usual and is not level with the sill on the other side of the jack point. Either that or the jacking rail just got pushed in a good bit.
