^^ it has fixed my problem so i think that was it.. Other than that, i havnt changed anything to the car at all!!

Got told by my mechanic that it will improve it, which it has.. Might not help on all cars, but im happy..

Im not to sure if you can just empty it.. Shouldnt cost you that much.. If you really keen let me know and i will go talk to my mechanic again and ask him exactly what it will do..

he just suggested me to change it, seemed fine ever since..

I "know a guy" who has the manifold > charcoal cannister lines disconnected altogether, and he is getting excellent fuel economy. 400 - 450 k's before the fuel light comes on (mildly modded series 1 R33 with tuned PFC)

I don't think it's the cannister......

ok had the afrs checked again today and the mechanic pulled about 10% fuel out aparantly.. ive done about 70km havnt seen any amazing results quite yet.... does seem slightly better at this stage though..

ive just filled up with a full tank now so i can compare accuratly i guess...

hmmm my o2 sensor is *still* cycling between 0.5 - 0.6 volts however, which is what it was doing before i had the retune today... It does show diff numbers sometimes but mainly .5 - .6

well after giving it a somewhat proper test :P its looking heaps better :(

120km or so and its nearly 1/4 of the way down (i no the gauge isnt accurate.. but before it would of been in the middle by now)

so thanks heaps for everyones help and espeacily nigel @ ice performance for fixing her up real good :(

    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
