TT, manual ones are going for at least 20k, early series 1 models.

Anything newer costs heaps more. Kinda like GTRs actually. (not looks/perfromance, as in cost of R32 GTRs vs R33 GTRs etc)

You'd rather a GTR anyday of the week though....

You have my vote on the GTO !

I remember getting mine over 410km in Gran Turismo - original - fell in love with it since. I settled for a GTR r32 :D Maybe one day i'll have an affair with a GTO :( I dont think these cars get enough attention they deserve in australia.

As for the looks, i definitely think its up there with the series 6+ rx7 - one of my other favourite shaped jap cars. Each to their own with looks, my ex gf thought the r32GTS looks like a family car! My new gf lost her licence due to DD - so she cant afford to be picky with the GTR :(

There is a video google on one of the original US ads for the 3000GT VR4.

Its about 8 minutes long, I'm pretty sure its a promo vid or something, enjoy!

Lol tells you some good stats, but my god its homo.

Having a FWD based engine layout they are a bitch to do any engine work on. Been in a 94 TT a few years ago and the interior was alot nicer than a 33 GTR.

Go for it if you have alot of $$ to back you up if you have any problems with it. If your buying it with every penny you have I wouldnt get it otherwise it may end up sitting unused till you save up enough coin to fix it.

get a 34gtr

looks way nicer and good money for wat you get.

tru that the gto looks pretti good and so on but to me gtr looks much better, much easier to mod, much cheaper to fix.

mod up the 34 with the money that you would need to repair ur gto

still, its your choice. dont worry bout what people think, if you like it drive it.

99 GTO - ~$45000

99 R34 GTR - ~$65000

So you're just going to pull $20,000 out from where?

Comparing a 33 GTR with a GTO is more reasonable.

I worked on a GT 3000 in 2000 was the first one i had eva seen. After the test drive (driven by older mechanic) i was blown away. I had a soft spot for this car for ages until i got to ride in my first GTR.

After then i was hooked on the GTR and thats life...

I would certainlly own a GT 3000 but i would prefer the GTR first.

Well were do i start?

in 2003 i bought a run down black 1991 gto cheap from the auctions. After rebuilding the engine and gearbox including leather interior i decided to sell it.

It was such a beautiful car to drive, very responsive from low down right up to its 7500 rpm cutout. Around corners it handled extremly well due to its aftermarket coilovers which it came with.

So i thought to myself what do i buy know?

What else ? a 1997 model GTO.

This one is also black with the optional glass roof, leather, and electronic aero spiolers (were an option after 1994) and 18 inch deep dish bbs style rims. Mods were boost controller and exhaust.

If i was you and had the extra cash go for the later model they came out in 1994.

The advantanges are 6 speed getrag box which is stronger than the 5 spd also the transfer case is upgraded.

Brakes were also upgraded larger diameter front and rear. The turbos were slightly larger, not sure exactly though.

Performance wise there quite good. A mate of mine had a 2005 porshe 911 s4 (4wd) 3.6 ltr and raced it 4 times one night, from a stand still, beat it every time and reached speeds of 160kph. My mate now drives the new porche tt turbo model, paid over 300 grand and he always ask me for a rematch????

But i must agree with some of the other guys coments, they arent so easy to repair and modify these cars.

The only problem i have experienced with parts is the wait, mostly 2 weeeks from japan.

when i went to do some more work on it, i decided it was too expensive and was hearing from alot of bad storys.

So my advise would be if you like this kind of car buy it. If you leave it alone (apart from a boost controller and exhaust)it will be a very reliable car and you will have alot of fun and attract plenty of attention on the streets.

If its performance your looking for, buy a GTR, or if you cant make up your mind and you can afford it, what the hek!

BUY BOTH!!

I did.

Well thanks alot guys.I have heard quite a bit of healthy advice and think that i will be getting a decent example of 3000 gto as i do love them.Again if you do not look after a car it will not look after you. This sort of reminds me of people bagging 300zx for overheating etc which a load of crap. The rule of thumb is you get what you spend for as you all know. Thanks alot for the input guys cheers

hi i just imported a 1990 gto tt ,it was fairly cheap ,15000 on the road

reg/insured/alarm fitted .it is great, very flexable engine, torque right down low,it gets lots of attention in qld as there arn't many around.

compliance will be available for later models very soon 1996 to 1999

i think.

they will sell for between 25 to high 30s i think.

they are in a different class to gtr.sport/luxury not outright sport.

david

no doubt about it its a great looking car the bad thing about them is that there isnt many of them around so its hard to find parts.

BUT if ur going to be forking out 40 to 50 grand which is what they r worth why not just buy an R34 GTR a lot newer car better made and shit loads more fun to drive not to mention that u'll get more looks from people then for a GTO and ull have an instant classic. :mage:

Like I said

Interior isn't that bad actually, they even came in leather! They have electric seats standard and the airconditioning unit is also pretty advanced.

The actual dash looks a bit old, but other than that, pretty good. It's no worse than r32s or r33s.

LOL here's another 20cents for ya buddy.....

i had a 91 model GTO loved it but yeah its abit heavy n afer awhile u kinda get sick of it being too heavy n all but now iam considering buying a 96 model :P, looks heaps beta without the popup headlight :D.......

i need 40c...

sorry mate, just not my thing...

how much do they cost??
