Atmospheric Bov= Less Power

Hi all, just fitted a turbosmart V port to my R32 and I ended up putting the standard BOV valve back on as a I felt the V port gave me less power, any ideas? Is it in my head?

it would give you less power all it will achieve is a wanker noise the standard blow off valve is extremely good there is no need to replace it the car is designed and tunes to run a plumb back.

at a guess its dumping built up pressure (to amto) rather than recirculating it, which would make a bit more laggy on gearchanges

a bov wont add to the power nor subtract from it.

my guess is that the bov was leaking and causing boost to leak out hence the feel of "less power", stock one will leak too after a certian ammount of perssure neccistating the need to upgrade to a better bpv or a bov.

Is it worth upgrading the standard BOV, but keep it as a plumback system.

check out phase III and then click on the notes about the bov.

this will give some insight into upgrading them and why

Hey how do you think a stock R32 GTS-T bov will go with 18-20 psi? are they still good or would i need an upgrade

if your maxing out the stock one, which i doubt

then go for gtr twin bovs

bov and actuator are 2 very differnet things that do 2 very different jobs.

one does not do the work of the other..

say for example, I was to knee cap you for asking bov questions.

it would be like me saying, it's ok cause you can use your eye lids to do the work of your legs..
