Gday guys,

cefiroz.com has over 10,000 hits.. no shit. But the domain registration has come up for renewal. I was going to can it but I really would like it to be an active site for the benefit of everyone.

I believe this (section of SAU) is the most active a31 resource in Australia, and I'm never wanted to change that (hence why cefiroz.com isn't a forum). The reality is however, without input it's going to die (and many would argue it has).

I've set this thread up so people can post articles and car profiles for the members section. I will cut and paste these and put them onto cefiroz.com with your name etc. If the response is good enough I'll re-register cefiroz.com and keep at it... If there's no response here in the next couple of weeks I'll just can it and the domain will go into the sin bin :ermm:

Right now even just members rides would do. If it really takes off I'll change the site layout and actually make it a cool looking site :D

Either way. Vote with your contribution.

EDIT:

***************************************************

At the start of 2005 I began looking for a nice Cefiro because I wanted something different from all the S13 and R32 / 33 getting around. There were plenty of examples in Japan but finances were an issue as I had just decided to defer my uni course and find work.

Then came those rumors about the changes to the 15 year rule. Luckily A31 Cefiro's were made from '88 > so there was still a chance of finding a nice one from Japan. Then one day I was browsing www.nissansilvia.com and saw a 1990 A31 for sale and the seller was located in Melbourne.

It listed SE Suburbs as the location, so I was thinking SE suburbs will be Moorabin or something, (no where near me). So I ring the guy and turns out he is < 5 mins from my house and about 1 min from the missus' house.

So I went and took a look the next day....this was to be my second car, but the first one I had purchased on my own. In hindsight, I should have checked a lot more things on the car than I did. I was so in love I put a deposit on it pending a RWC and my loan being approved.

Cut a long story short, my loan was approved but the RWC was to prove to be a pain, with some items only being able to be sourced genuine from Nissan in Sydney. Between when I first looked at the car and pickup time I drove past everyday to look at it.

Finally everything was sorted and I exchanged a bank cheque for my new baby!

At the time of buying the car was fairly standard:

  • M's K&N Pod (replaced with A'pex)
    BOV (now removed)
Nardi Wheel (favourite part of the car)
    16inch AVS Wheels
    Blitz Boost Gauge
    Blitz Turbo Timer
Recently completed RB20DET replacement (still with 90 day warranty)
    Tein Coilovers
    180sx Front Seats

In the last year or so I have only done a few modifications, some of them through need rather than want. Current list of mods including the above:

  • Extreme HD cushioned ceramic clutch
Brand new clutch master and slave cylinders
    40mm Alloy radiator
    Water temp gauge
    Full Uras Kit
    Bleed Valve

Everyday I find something new to buy for it, if only funds would cooperate. Future plans include SR20 conversion (inspired by too_much_boost article), full suspension, LSD, etc.

after owning a Mk1 Escort & Bluebird TRX with usual 'teenage hoon' mods, i decided it was time to upgrade and get something that was A) a little different and B) a japanese turbo.

after getting the financial backing, i came across a 1989 Cefiro for sale on SAU. i had the car inspected, which was all up to standard, so purchased the car for $11000.

specs:

1989 A31 Cefiro

RB25DET (swap was done in Japan)

R33 5spd 'box

R33 brake upgrade

mech 2 way diff

Tein coilovers

Blitz LM pod filter

Blitz gearknob

PWR cooler + custom aluminium piping

HD twin plate clutch

new slave & master cylinder for clutch

(poss Bride copy) arse-huggers

drift button

momo copy steering wheel

autech copy bodykit

R32 GTS-t rims

toyo rubber

Zenith solid cradle bushes

Nismo front strut brace

jap spec exhaust (brand unknown)

Apexi boost gauge

Omori water temp gauge

latest mod - permanently removed license plates (some twat stole them). further mods will be updated

the pic below was taken before i had the FMIC fitted, was only running a side mount then

This is a good idea.

Well back at the end of 2004 i was driving rd the gold coast on a holiday an saw this wicked looking 4 door car parked onside of road so i had a look an it was for sale at the time i was building a 323 with a gtr familiar. Anyways i decided i would sell the car. So i contacted Geoff at prestige motorsport an started lookin thru the auctions. Anyways i found 1 just after xmas 04 an by april 05 i was the proud owner of a 89 model a31 cefiro, when i bought it it had a lsd, coilovers and cat bak zorst. and a full monkey magic kit.

When i picked it up i got 30mins away from the compliance workshop an the radiator blew so i purchased a gtr 1. Then the clutch went so i decided to put a brass with sprung centre bak in, from there i did the zorst and front mount. I then purchased a power fc and some gtr injectors.

Things where going great till december when i got some dodgy fuel. an cooked the motor so i sourced another rb20 an i have since put a hks 2510 on which still hasnt been tuned but will be in a month an once it is tuned im going to be a regular at drift events. Thats my story

    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
    • Actually I might have figured out. Looks like there is a tab according to google images but it's hidden. Silly me.
    • No clips on this one like the other connector. Only that red tab that I can push slightly up.
    • For any loom connector that has an obvious release that resists pushing far enough to unclip, just spray some silicone lube into it. You might also benefit from using a bent screwdriver or small pick to push in the right place at the right angle.
    • Hey all, I went to try and fix my indicator not canceling, but I couldn't remove the clockspring cable under the column so I could twist that green thin. Anyone know how to remove this cable? I see this red tab but didn't have any luck. I was thinking of unscrewing it but wasn't sure if it would cause issues. I did notice for my indicator stalk, 2 out of 3 cables were plugged in but the last cable wouldn't fit in the stalk. I'm getting it's for fog lights. It was like this when I originally pulled it off.
