garrett serial number plate reads:

6D 60201

GT2510-63T

446179-20

the internet tells me a gt2510 is a hks model??

what i want to know is:

is this the standard on a R32GTST? or an aftermarket ballbearing replacement?

im confused..

The plate you have the numbers from (the cartridge in the centre) will tell you if its Garrett or HKS

If it has Garrett on it, its Garrett and vice versa.

thanks but i was really after an answer as to what type of turbo it is. the plate says garrett but the GT2510-63T line i think refers to the HKS GT2510 with a 63 trim ? am i reading too deeply into the numbers?

i cant find a reference to a garrett GT25/10 or a garrett with a 63 trim anywhere on the net... the comp housing looks identical to the garrett GT28xxx models tho

its happy to sit on 1.2bar so im guessings its not stock..

Hi BSK , off the top of my head 446179-20 is a HKS spec Garrett BB GT28 series cartridge . The HKS GT2510 is basically a GT2530 with the more OEM style GT28 60T turbine . The GT2510 and 2530 both use the same 63T 60mm compressor which I've not seen in Garrett marketed GT BB 28's . Garrett normally use one of two very similar (to each other) 62 trim 60mm compressors ie in the Skyline GTR upgrade GT2860R and the GT28RS (GT2860RS) . Both 2510 and 2530 were early GT BB developments and have been improved upon by the GT-SS and that GTR type 2860R with the NS111 76T turbine .

And no its not the std turbocharger .

Cheers A .
