Is This Supposed Blocked Off?

I was looking in my engine bay and noticed that this connection off the

inlet manifold is blocked off, should it be connected up to something else?

Will it cause problems?

they have blocked off the rocker cover vent, it will stop any oil mist entering the engine at vacuum.

this is a good thing and will not harm anything.

they just bypassed it into a oil catch can..

don't know what it stands for. AAC valve controls the idle

It is on opposite side of the manifold/throttle body thingo to the thing you have pointed out in the picture,

Its is also know as a IACV, Idle Air Control Valve.Controls idle speed during warm up of engine and when aux systems such as air con and thermo fan are operating

yep you just take off the hoses connected to it, and those 4 bolts,

someone posted a very detailed thread on how to clean your aac a week or two ago, have a search for it, but it was very thorough

and if you need to replace it, pm me, because i don't need the one in that pic!

It's very easy to do, just did it myself on the weekend

In that DIY thread it says you have to remove the idle screw, and after cleaning insert screw and make adjustments via the ecu.

If you screw it back in to the exact same spot and the car runs fine can you leave the ecu alone?

yes and no, it'll idle higher because you've cleaned it!, so you really should reset the idle properly. Though if you're lazy you can probably get away with just using the screw to adjust it.
