why are you looking for a 550hp fuel pump?

what are your power goals, with 550cc injectors and a 044 im not even coming close to max duty with 290+ rwkw

you want internal or external pump? thinking most 550 hp pumps will be external..

there are plenty of threads giving flow rates of the walbro pumps at given voltages..

seems that walbro need higher voltages to match the sort of flow.

i wouldn't use one ever..

044 bosch is in tank. 044 is external..

Using an 040 in my car.

Its was $230 delivered + $60 to fit it.

Seems to do the job pretty well. The stagea tank is made in such a way that the pump sucks all the way until my little light comes on no worries.

can hear a buzz outside the car, nothing at all inside.

Agree. :)

I got my Bosch 040 for $190 delivered (ebay Alex, ebay!), :)

Had it installed as low down as possible, and also had a direct battery feed wired up, so it runs at 13.8V.

Perfect fuel pump, more than enough for your needs matey!

looking for an internal one >>>

well my power goal for now is getting the most of my car with these mods ...

i've heard the 044 and 040 are good one ...

Well your power goal is far more than an 040/044 needs to supply.

a Bosch 910/984 or a GTR item is all you need, no point putting in something bigger.

Use Walbro intank pumps in customers skylines & pulsars with no problems. $310, easy to install. Suggest people dont comment on things their not sure about.

BUT ...

what about walbro ?

apologies wolverine... getting confused between the numbers :)

good PDF

bezerkly, i personally have had issues with my walbro.

Correct power and everything was connected to it and it didnt get close to what it was "meant to" get to in terms of flow.

Swapped in the bosch external and i went from 13afr's down under 10's somewhere.

And i wasnt making big power at that stage, around 250rwkw

So personally for me i wouldnt use one again.

Its just being used as a lift pump now for my surge tank as there is no point throwing it out completly and wasting $$

tis no problem nismoid, there seems to have been many posts with what appears to be the wrong flow rates that keep getting cut and pasted.

i chose the 984 as it has a hose end (which allows you to use the factory sock) and seems to flow somewhere between the 040 and the 044 (but is shorter than the 044 and there is only a bees wang in sneaking the pump under some plastic trim in the tank in an R33).

ive been through the same dilemma regarding which flows more, the 040 or the 984. from resellers they say the 040 flows more..

differnet sources say different things. does anyone know why bosch rates the 040 at 6.5 bar where as the others are rated at only 5bar ??

ive seen figures floating around of 240L/hr @ 5bar but the accuracy of that figure is pretty sketchy it has nothing to back it up

the 040 also seems to eat up more current then the 984 as well

i ended up with the 040, to replace my genuine walbro which couldnt hold pressure on my sr20det..
