R34GTX
Okay, it's time to get new wheels. I have decided on the Nismo Silver LMGT4's, but I am not sure about the offset. The size I am looking at buying are as follows: Front: 17x8.5 +30 and Rear: 17x9.5 +38 Before anyone says "do a search" I did!! I read all 6 pages of SK's thread and also a few other pages, but nothing that supports concrete evidence that these wheels will fit comfortably under my guards without any scrubbing or for that matter hanging out of my arches. Info that might be useful. RIDE HEIGHTS: Front 355mm from wheel centre to wheel arch. Rear 345 mm on the rear from wheel centre to wheel arch. CASTER: Whiteline KCA331 6.5 degrees. FRONT SUSPENSION SETTING: Camber front = 1.0 degree negative + or - 0.25 degrees. (KCA348) Toe Front: Standard Adjustment 0mm each side REAR SUSPENSION SETTING: Camber rear = 0.5 degrees negative (KCA347) Toe Rear: Standard Adjustment -2mm each side SUBFRAME ALIGNMENT: All Round Performance. Can anyone help me to solve this question once and for all?? Does anyone have the same sized wheels who can confirm this will fit?? Rezz
Just have a look at the 'matching' list on the Rays site http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/cgi2/m...i?modelName=GT4 Rays recommend exactly what you posted: 17x8.5 +30 and 17x9.5 +38 (make sure you get 225/45 and 255/40 tyres). These won't scrub at all if your ride height isn't too low. They're not too much bigger than the standard wheels at the front anyway are they? ZigenGT
Yeah what size tyres are you intending to put? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112668-ah-new-nismo-wheels-anyone/#findComment-2077167 Share on other sites

Afterall, all I have changed to is the Bilstein/Whiteline setup with Front at 355mm and Rear at 345mm. Is this classed "too low" Yeah what size tyres are you intending to put?] I was told by the usual culprits (Bobjane, Beaurepairs etc) that on that size wheel I should get Front 235/45R/17 and Rear 255/40R/17. So everything adds up except for the 225 on the fronts? How much difference will this make to my wheel clearances if I do decide to use 235 instead of 225? Will it be enough for it to cause it to scrub or sit out of my gaurds? Thanks in advance. SirSkyline
My old man just got some wheels on his R34 4door and he fitted 235/40 all the way round with hardly any problems. the front wheels hit the inner guard every now and then Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112668-ah-new-nismo-wheels-anyone/#findComment-2077205 Share on other sites
Abo Bob
Why are you getting 17's? 18's look a million times better on an R34. The 235's will fit the front no worries. I found slightly increased understeer with the 225's. The width and offset of the rims are perfect. Can't go any bigger. Adam, I am wanting 17's as I tend to do quite a few kms everyday and am not wanting to fork out the dollars to replace 18's every 6 months. I am also intending to do alot more track days this year, and don't think I can justify chewing up 18's at a great rate of knots. However if a set of 18's came up at the right price I would buy them. Also, did I read your reply correctly that 18's with that same offset will also fit perfectly? gtr660hp- Dam shame about that. ANy idea if the person who bought them would want to part with them?? The only set around atm with the same offset are BRAND NEW ONES direct from RAYS = NOT CHEAP Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112668-ah-new-nismo-wheels-anyone/#findComment-2077427 Share on other sites

R34GTX
Thanks Ferni. I already had that calculator, but was wanting to hear from people with real life experince too. Just to be certain before I fork out $$ to bring them over from Japan. Cheers I found this helpful.http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112668-ah-new-nismo-wheels-anyone/#findComment-2077617 Share on other sites
