well break it down...

Say $750 for the head

$200 for a vrs kit - includes all top end gaskets

$50 oil

$20 coolant

So thats $1020 and hes driving a 2.5lt vs a 2 litre.

Seeing as you have a 3lt also u know the added benefits off boost torque makes.

Im still running my 3lt on a rb20 turbo thats been highflowed, so from my perspective id rather have a 2lt turbo on a 2.5lt motor, than a 2lt turbo on a 3lt motor.

It all comes down to what he wants to do with the car...if he gets the power itch later hes already got a 2.5lt motor in....or the 3lt route which is a different story...

  • 2 years later...

I just got my RB25DET (series 2) and I was hoping you could help me with some questions.

My Skyline is non turbo so it will be a big step with the RB25.

Now then, my first question is about the gearbox mounts, I hear they aren't the same and I will also have problems with the speedo meter. What do you know about this? Can I use the Xmember of the R33 ??

The second is about the harness, everyone that has ever swapped an engine told me that the harness is the most difficult part of the swap. Do you have the diagram of the R32 and the R33 (still can't find it for the R32) and some pointers on how this is done??

Hope to get a reply from you soon

Carlos Rudolph

your post is confusing.

I assume you are saying that you got a late model R32 2.5 non turbo.

so the engine is an RB25DE (not "T")

your best bet is turboing the stock engine.

have a look at the NA performance section of these forums.

there is pretty much a DIY guide in the NA section.

DR-DRIFT has also done this conversion with massive results.

I have a 1992 R32 with a RB20DE engine. and I want to swap it with a RB25DET S2
