I wont be here for the next three weeks. so if someone could take care of things like if it goes ahead. a poll for who wants to be the leader and so on and who wants to help out. perhaps end this vote in 2 weeks, or 3. then i will be back to help out.

P.S. You should read the post SAU - SA? first as there are the pros and cons of clubs...

I think you'll find if the club side of things happens, it will be the beginning of the end.......

I have been envolved in a few cars clubs, and to be honest, I got tired of them really quickly

The best thing i found about the clubs was catching up with friends, and meeting new people, the rest got boring really quick and it always falls back onto the same people to organize things etc

The reason I like SAU is you can show up to a dyno day etc and no one gives a rats ass if you have paid your fee's or what events you have/haven't attended

Just my 2c, but I'd put money on the fact that starting a club will be the end of it all

Im with Chris.

If you want to be in a club that bad Kikuchi, join another club like SVD first and see what goes on. Not being a prick, just thought u might like to see what actually goes on...

Just seems weird that someone who doesnt own a car yet,(no-offence), and joined less than a month ago wants to start a major reshuffle of the sau section. More to the point show me 1 other reason that a sau club should be formed (cams doesnt count - if you want it that bad, clubs already exist like svd i think which has cams affiliation). Its more like lets just form a club to say that u are part of one.

Despite having been told by a few long timers (who have seen many come and go) its really not worth the effort. People here like the way things go now, without any pressure to turn up on cruises, or dyno days as mentioned.

No offence directed at anyone, just i see it the way chris does.

The main beneift, as some have mentioned is CAMS membership.

If this is why you want to start a club, then I'd suggest joining V-Max or speaking to the Sporting Car Club and going down that route.

if you want to enter Autosalon and go to car shows etc, maybe a club is for you

If starting SAU-SA on the basis of obtaining a CAMS membership is the main reason allot of you are thinking of doing this, I'd think twice.

The other thing to think about is the image of what the club will be.

Without sounding too blunt, as a member of a club, your behaviour on the roads will be reflected upon all its members. If you are a caught doing stupid shit, everyone in that club will be bundled into that image, from the cops view anyway.

Look a NS, there image, in the cops eyes anyway, is that of a hoon club. You only have to look at the number of defects there members have got to see that. Same with that commonwhore club that was on the front page of the paper

SVD avoided allot of attention, mainly due to its members being a bit older, and those who did break rules, generally did so on other car club cruises. There where younger members, myself included, but at the time I was a member, these cars where quite expensive, so quite a few younger drivers where unable to afford such cars.

As we all know, the average price has come down by over 50% since some of us have had our cars, allowing them to be affordable as first cars.

To be perfectly honest, a club with younger members, especially p-platers, is going to attract allot of attention. I know most people who frequent here, thats the last thing they want.

I guess thats whats made SAU SA what it is today really, the fact that there are no stickers, no attention, just a bunch of like-minded car enthusiasts who enjoy talking cars and stumbling along to the annual/once in a while dyno day, cruise or BBQ

Form a club and this will be gone, and with it allot of people who enjoy it now for what it is, without all the shit that comes with being part of a car club

Just my opinions really

Chris

^^^^^Like he said, one person would f*** it up for everyone. Especially the people at the head who would be seen as accountable for the groups actions.

For example, say you're on a cruise, someone does a burnout and gets pulled up for "hoon" behavior, the people organising the event could be prosicuted under the hoon law, something about organising a hoon event i think.

As it is now, we're just meeting up, accountable for ourselves individually.

i just thought it would be a good idea. nothing will be changed and the only thing that will be different is cams affiliation. no heirachy. onli 1 or 2 ppl who organize the funds and thats it. everything else the club members decides. if you want to discuss anything. the other post would be a more suitable place.

for 1 i wont be joining the club any time soon until i do get a car.

2 the original post was me wondering why we dont have a club

then seeing the number of people who were interested

i made this post

if i wanted to join a club badly, i would have gone to join another club. i wanted to go through with this as it would be special for the skylines enthusiasts on sau. joining another club would have been easier if i just wanted to join a car club to show off rather then go through the trouble of going through with this.

if you feel that a club is bad for you. vote No. every vote counts. voice ur opioning in the other post and persaude the other users to vote no.

if you say that sau-sa is what it is today because of the pure enthusiasts. then wats the difference if we form a club exclusive to SAU members that have been on atleast 3 months.

i say this once again. this is a poll. if you dont want a club. vote no.

if you want to be a club so bad why dont you get some shirts or jackets to make yourself look a little more like a club. Im sure if your chasing CAMS you can get into another club to do so.

Not taking a shot either
