I saw a front mount kit to suit a S13 that uses the stock side mount pipes, looks similar to these R32 kits.

Because the S13 side mount pipes are very close to the R32 GTS-T setup, would it be possible to adapt one

of these S13 kits into a R32?

Has anyone tried this before?

Pic of cooler1 is mine! Im using it as a front mount for my R33-based Stagea wagon, so itd definately be suitable for either a R32 or R33 Skyline.

Works a treat too! Its an Apexi intercooler, called a 'Hybrid' (http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_suction_detail.asp?id=215&pageNum=1)

What did it cost you?

I've found a few S13 kits exactly the same as these one, just wondering where they'll fit an r32.

eBAY mate! I got it for a few hundred US, plus shipping from Japan (and bought a $200 pipe kit off ebay, cut what I needed to fit; ie 3 x 30degree bends, 3 x 45degree & 3 x 90degree bends, and 4 long straight lenghts as well).

all up paid under $500AUS as I fitted it myself, using 4ply silicone hoses and 3 clamps per join (it aint popping off!)

it flows just fine with a stnd turbo at 12psi, SITC & SAFC controllers, etc. Good for 160awkw atm, and hope for 200awkw when I do the hiflow turbo/inj etc.

search ebay and pick up one in good nick, and give it a total flush with 50/50% kero/metho mix. buy a pipe kit (ie a box of pipes like I did) and fit it your self. Fun fun fun

;)

    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
    • February update 🙂 We managed to get the very last 1/18th "Extra Scale" cars stock available from bookstores in Kyoto. These are actually the last ones and will not be restocked again! Hachette Collections Japan have not decided on a release date for these or other models in the series, so for the time being these are all there are available new.  These are showing up on Yahoo auctions at inflated prices already (especially the Celica and NSX) so get yours now at a very reasonable price before they disappear!
