hmmmmm

I reckon that's definately a three ply extra soft peice of paper that dyno was printed on.

No... we just love telling bulldust.

If I had a dollar for every poor deluded sucker who claimed this or that power and for some unexplainable reason couldn't get a corresponding 1/4 time or for that matter beat other reputedly lesser powered vehicles in any manner of accelleration test.

If in doubt..doubt some more.

INASNT & rev210,

don't forget that both Garrett and HKS (basically garrett) rate the supported power levels of their turbo's at 1bar of boost.

Also, as mentioned, if they 'apparently under-rate' the power levels of their turbo's, ~250rwkw might actually be possible at 1.4 - 1.5bar (~20 - 22 psi) along with modified cams, decent intercooler and very very fine tuning which i believe is most important and of course the fuel system to support this boost.power.

But again, as mentioned, although possible this would be running the turbo way out of its efficiency range, so u could go for something like this and push it hard to get your power, or you can get something slightly larger and make the power easier and more efficiently.

RS500,

I won't tell people not to dream but, the 1bar figures assume 0% flow losses to your motor and ambient s.t.p. In the real world you would need more boost than 1bar to achieve the quoted figures let alone higher.

It is better to expect less and be suprised with more.

Try testing the theory in real life and be very dissapointed in every aspect of real performance. Building dyno daisy's is not my bag baby.

    • I get into huffs with people when I suggest the MX5 looks so much better as a coupe than it does as convertible. Pretty sure I don't prefer the convertible version of anything. Good job on the hardtop! The next buyer will appreciate.
    • IMO wrap does have its uses, but like you said, quality wrap, and professional installation, would probably cost want a quality paint job does, but, the paint, if maintained, is basically for life, and much easier to touch up if required  In other news: it's pissing down here, with thunder, lightning and only some small hail "at this stage", luckily all "my" cars are undercover  I've also been contacted by a guy in Newcastle about the SS, he said he will come down next weekend for a look, we'll see how that transpires I guess 🫰
    • Nah, I'm not an a-hole, ha ha!   I do like the colour match. Some of the carbon fibre wraps are quite freaking horrible. There's one a local company I know uses, and it looks damn good! Also very very expensive per metre to buy! ha ha ha It might be cheaper to respray the roof than use the good CF Wrap, ha ha!
    • Please noooooooo 😭 As for wrap, no thank you mate, I've seen and used "carbon fibre" wrap before, and for these hard tops, they look soooo good when colour matched Like this >>>
    • That depends, someone might offer me a good price to resell it Mark... Ha ha ha!   I can get it wrapped in a really nice looking carbon fiber vynil if you want?
