Hi guys,

As the title says - what mods should I put on to my s2? I was thinking of starting with a pod filter/panel filter, then going to an exhaust upgrade, and finally to an intercooler. Obviously I want to start it off cheap first. Any thing that you guys and girls recommend? Basically, I want to do the light mods first to raise the power up. I have read that these 3 will increase it to about 170-180 rwkws. with regards to the filter - does it matter if its a pod or a panel? Thanks in advance for the advice.

for 170rwkws all ull need is a bit of boost, cat back exhaust, pod/panel filter and an safc. it will make this power safely with the stock smic

filter $200 max

cat back 2nd hand between $200-500

ebc between $100-500

safc 2nd hand - $200

if it was upto me id go in order

powerfc - $950 new

2nd hand cat back $200-500

dump/front pipe - $450

filter $50-200

ebc

for a bit more spend u get alot better power n better fuel economy due to the powerfc

hey fellas, thanx for the info. I will be putting in a pod filter first i think, followed by a 2nd hand cat back exhaust and finally a second hand intercooler. (just need the money first)

The other thing is - is it worthwhile investing in a non-famous turbo timer? (i.e one other than a blitz, hks, apexi etc)?

Well I thought I'd give you a list of things NOT to bother with instead.

1. Don't buy an aftermarket BOV on unless you want to be Paul Walker.

2. Try to avoid a pod filter, although they sound great they are bait.

3. A bleed valve is a cheap and easy way to get boost so don't jump straight for an electronic boost controller. You can always upgrade later.

4. Don't buy a super loud exhaust, eg. Apexi Dunk Megaphopne (no really, I had one) or a Fujitsubo power getter. They are ace for the first 6 months untill you crave the peace and quiet or get defected (just ask Bass Junky).

5. Make sure you research your intercooler. Don't just buy any old core then find you have to hack half the front bar reo and chassis rails to fit it.

6. Turbo timer = Waste of money unless you live at the top of Mt. Bulla.

I think that's about it. The rest has been said :)

PS - S2, cool car! I miss mine :)
