supadan
cops dont do shit for car break ins.gfs car got broken into, they took name, rego, parts stolen and chased her up about the damn TITLES of the CDs stolen for a week. WTF? go catch criminals not ring constantly asking exactly what cds were taken! another mates S13 got nicked (the whole car) and he found it luckily a few streets away but they wouldnt come out for that until he footstamped and threatened until the did. cops are useless unless your dead. then they seem to take notice. no it is unless you speed, have big wheels, your car goes psssssttt, a loud exhust, or making clouds lol then they are right up on your case Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112911-fing-hell/page/2/#findComment-2082849 Share on other sites
oscar32
Sorry to hear mate, that truly sucks. Nothing worse than loosing all that money, and the fact your pride and joy has been touched - and damaged. Stevie
I'll begin the process. PM you with anything of interest. I've had this done to a commodore I used to own! Very annoying! But I found the little scumbag. He'll get his eventually. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112911-fing-hell/page/2/#findComment-2083063 Share on other sites
leech_
Thanks guys appreciate the support I have managed to source a window off another SAU'r at a good price which is great so hopefully that will help me save a few $$$. Big problem is when they cut the SAFC out my car is running like crap now it wont rev above 1700rpm am guessing because when the SAFC was installed they would have to cut and bypass a couple of wires. I will have to try and work out which ones have been cut and solder them back together. Hopefully I will be right but if anyone installed an SAFC and knows what wires I should be looking for or is an electrician (looks at Andrew) and is happy to lend me 5 minutes of phone time or pop out and have a quick look I would appreciate it (locted in the city area). Cheers Leigh Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112911-fing-hell/page/2/#findComment-2083115 Share on other sites
Amaru
If it was installed properly, it should have the plastic cable taps/cuts. Basically you put the original wire in and the wire from the safc in, close them up and it splices the original and feeds it into the safc wire. It would be pretty obvious which wires go where from looking at that. Thats if it was installed properly though Otherwise its just a matter of matching colour to colour, wouldnt take more than 30 minutes to do. Sorry to hear about it Exactly the reason I will never move to apartments. Their "secure" car parks seem to have the highest rate of theft. SupaFly Skyline
spewing to hear Leigh, id hate for a car to be so violated, regarding the not running right, if you have a wiring diagram for either the safc or car, find the AFM signal wire and join the two ends together, thats the only wire that needs to be cut when putting an safc I in, not too sure about the II but, if you need a hand, give me a buzz, should be able to fix it up for you. Veilside R33
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why although i seel apartments all day, I will never buy one, doesn't matter how hard it is to break in to, apartment carparks are sooo easy to gain access to. r33skylinegtst
I remember when i was working in Tuggers there was a crash at the lights near Tyre Power. It was fairly serious, cars had to be towed and stuff. The cops didn't get down there for a full 30-40 mins after the accident (even though the crash had obstructed the road at one point). Police station is like...2 minutes walk away. What the hell? Anyways, sorry to hear it Leigh. leech_
again cheers for the kind words all and nik and andrew were right when the safc was installed it just needed the AFM wires reattached and it started running fine again. So things are starting to look better except that i am stuck with a 1980 honda accord for the next week or so lol its a beast Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112911-fing-hell/page/2/#findComment-2084621 Share on other sites

Scotch locks/insulation displacement joiners should never be used, they degrade the integrity of the conductor, which leads to wires breaking, hot jointing, short circuits etc.. things i certainly wouldnt want when dealing with something that (partly) controls my engine. Sorry for O/T, but unfortunatly Leigh, i think the only way to have a "secure" carpark where you live is to put a fence and roller door on your parking spot. but on the bright(ish?) side, karmas a bitch, theyll get theirs... Stevie
thats the beautiful thing about Sydney apartments they have a secure car park and then individual garages in them! Best of both worlds... Terminal
My housemate used the secure parking under my last place. i was forced to park in the vistor parking for a year. i never had one problem being outside, and my car was (is) a lot better than his (exa). someone busted into his car under our secure parking and flogged all his work stuff including laptop etc as he was driving to sydney in the morning for work and had packed the night before. i think if they (crooks) have to try to break in they will, but my car wasn't a challenge so they left it alone. very ironic i think Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112911-fing-hell/page/2/#findComment-2086364 Share on other sites
SKYLVIA
so... lesson today is to NOT park in the secure carparks? lol i think for theives to break into a car in a secure carpark, theyd have to know what theyre after and how exactly to get it. leech_
it does actually make sence there are 2 rex's that look fairly modded that always park out the front of the complex and arent ever touched it would probably be more secure than my carpark at this stage Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112911-fing-hell/page/2/#findComment-2086756 Share on other sites
SkyGTRline
Sorry to hear that leigh.. that would be my worst nightmare someone breaking into my car.. your kinda right about the car parks.. altho they say there secure, with gates and doors.. its also means there tucked away.. noboys is around.. easier to do what you want without being seen.. Were as if your car is out side in front of and appartment. its more likely for someone to see once the alarm has gone off.. if you get me.. IT may be called secure.. but its so secure no one can see it.. which makes it an easier target. Terminal
i had it happen twice in my R33, but they never broke a window. i found out how they got in though, it's not hard to break into cars without window frames. hopefully you can get your stuff back together without too much hassle, i hated driving around in my car after it was ripped open, it just reminded me all the time of the incident.
