I had to remove my bonnet support bar to fit my intercooler. Now the bonnet it really hard to close because the latch it locks into isnt being held straight and steady. Its a mission to close the bonnet, its impossible to do with the grill on.

What do I do? The intercooler protrudes about 2 inches past the middle (where the factory bracket is). Do I just mount it next to the intercooler with a bar on the top support arm and onto the bottom of the front kit somewhere?

This is a pic of the intercooler on a r30 (that it came off):

George,

Why don't you just cut the garnish support part off and dispense with the headlight washer pump.

I'm putting in a larger cooler than that, 400 x 270 x 65 core size and most of the guys on here have fitted them 600mm x 300mm x 75mm and not experienced the problems you are.

Cheers,

D

That picture is old, that pump is long gone.

Someone just replied to me on SDU saying that they removed the same bar i did and they dont have any problems closing theyre bonnet....I had to cut next to my headlight the same as the red r30 to get the top intercooler pipe in place, maybe i've done soemthing bad :)

George...Just copy what the guy with the red car has done, make up a supporting strap outta strap alumnunium, cause i had same issue as you when i first did my cooler, and i made up that strap, bent it around and behind the intercooler and i've never had an issue with it since!!!
