i dont know if the mesh is normally screwed on or anything but mine was siliconed back on.

as for the taking the front off...i find it to be a pain in the ass. Start with the grill. then take out the headlights to expose some bolts. There are some bolts in the wheel arch. there are 2 where the number plate should be...under it tho. You gotta get under the car and sorta figure out what you gotta take off to get the front off. End of the day, you will be better off keeping the mesh on!
