grepin
how securly is it fitted?? no lose connections?? Its in quiet secure with a couple of screws either side and wedged in the cradle. It doesnt skip with the radio so I guess its the disc drive side and not connections. Pretty sure its the disc side just need to know if maybe a simple clean or alignment may fix it. If that all costs too much then I guess I am up for a new one or good condition second hand one. Cubes
I too have found Kenwoods to be sensitive to scratches and bumps, especially with burnt disks. Chris32
Hi all.My Kenwood headunit is skipping over rough roads. Anyone know if its terminal or can be fixed or point me in the direction of who can help? Cheers. My old Kenwood head unit hated being tilted back any more than about 10* in my old car. If it was flat, it wouldn't skip.... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112942-help-with-my-skipping-headunit/#findComment-2084069 Share on other sites
Bl4cK32
I think this is a common problem with cd players, unless its a newer type stacker with a gel centre which stops the skipping on rough surfaces. Saying that i had a pioneer (last model) which was excellent when it came to bumps. If its a headunit cd player not much you can do, apart from maybe try to mount it with some rubber sandwiched between it and the bracket mounts to absorb the knocks...? sskylinee
has it only just started skipping? cos all cd players will skip over hard bumps i think the better ones have an anti-shock thingo to prevent skipping unless u just installed super hard suspension in ur car lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/112942-help-with-my-skipping-headunit/#findComment-2085537 Share on other sites

When new it was Ok. Now I can hit the side of the dash with my hand and make it skip everytime. Pretty sure it is knackered.
