After putting my stock BOV back on i decided to check if my plugs had been fouled from it. I currently have NGK platinums and i can't tell if their dirty, and don't know how to clean them? Should i use a solution?

This pic may not help but i just need to know if their 'black' or just their normal operating colour? They've only done about 20,000km and good for 100,000km.

Pic of 1 plug

Thanks yall!

Black is just the normal operating colour... Looks like your car is maybe running pretty rich though?

I'm not sure whether you should do the same to platinums and whether they have any sort of special protective coating, but for my coppers I used some sandpaper, and then scrubbed them with a bit of metho.

Metho and a course brush is probably the safest way for platinums.

I dont think you should clean platinum plugs. They have a very thin coat of platinum. If you use anything harsh like sandpaper it damage them.

Just leave them alone.

If your car isnt running well have it checked out.

Keep the shiny side up!!!

Seems to run same as before, although i did clean the coil packs too. Cylinder 1 & 2 plugs were a bit white-ish, need to get it on the dyno and fix the a/f ratio. I believe it runs rich at low revs and leans out at top. I get pinging every now and then, so i'll look into it.

Since putting on the stock BOV, noise from my pod is basically non-existant. Which is weird because why would the BOV have any effect? Its basically 1/3 as loud as it was before.

Cars running MUCH nicer with the plumback too!

if your plugs have differant colours it my be advisable to have your injectors cleaned the whiter plugs maybe running leaner due to restrictions in the injector
