OK i am looking at buying a R32 sedan GTS-T auto. It has 101***kms on the clock but its imported so who really knows.

I have some problems with the car as the owner wants $11800 for it but there are a few things that need replacement. The list is things that are damaged and have been done to the car.

It has a damaged left hand headlight. How much for one of these?

No passanger air vent as not alot of the 32's have anyway. How much also for this?

Front bumper is cracked but mates can fix that.

Air con needs to be regassed.

& finally the climate control does not pump fresh air into the cabin. It just pumps hot air no matter what the setting of the fan is on the climate control. I went to nisswreck and asked the owner there and he said something might be wrong with the electrics in the climate control system.

There is also a leak of oil

I really cant see myself paying $11800 for this car as there is alot of work to be done to it.

Im getting a loan for this car but its going to be sucured and Just cars has given me an agreed value of $8,900. So its not looking in my favour.

Sorry for the long post but I need as much help as I can get.

Yeh nisswreck is but its poo. No offence to them at all I went and had a look yesterday and the paint work is crap and it isnt as nice as the one i am talking about above.

I am going to offer him $10k and see if he takes it as its going to need about $1500 worth or work on it as it hasnt had a 100000km service yet. SO thats big bucks there allready.

Thanks for your help guys and please keep posting your opinions.

No offence to you R33 sedan owners but they really don't interest me at all. 4door_Sleeper. I have to take into account that im 18 and getting a RB25det 180rwkw car will make the insurance company ass ram me no matter what i do.

Once again I appreciate your help and please keep it coming. Im leaving it at $10000 and nothing more. To much money is needed to fix it up.

it does look nice ... uve goto do wot u feel is right if u like the car offer less money but know ur limits...

i dont think you would actually pay much more for 4door_Sleeper 33 u dont tell them how much power the car is makeing @ rear wheels only wot mods it has

how much have u been quoted anyways

The one Nisswreck has is a nice car apart from the paintwork which is no big deal are u sure u had a good look at it? i dont think so.....compare $11,800 to $8,000

and nisswreck will look after you with parts as they have heaps of stock! they also have a really clean r32 gtst 4wd. $11,800 for a 32 4door AUTO IS NO WAY WORTH IT.. a r33 2door manual turbo go for like 14 -$15,000 now

just take ur time in finding a car

Ok went and had a proper look at Nisswrecks.

Dont worry i slapped myself so u guys dont have to . I put my foot in it big time. Nisswrecks is awsome but only needs a good paint job.

Very keen on nisswrecks now.

Drifter 33. Is that you Steve. LOL???????????

Just have to convince parentals now. Big problem there.

My money but oh no parents still have to have the last word.

Cheers for everyones help. Most appreciative.

Later,

Brent

Dude your better off spending a few more K's and getting a clean decent 32. I bought mine 9 months ago I paid 16,500 with racing volks, lowered and exhaust, perfect paint and interior, even has the original book and service manuals(pity its in japanese). Could of bought others with more mods for cheaper but you have to have a good 'base car' then put mods on it. Spend time and look around, mine took 3 months to find, you will find 1 they are out there! Last thing you want to do is buy a car from a wrecker....wreck-er! :bunny:

Looks like a nice clean 4 door R32, just like my old one. I like the rims too. 10k isn't a bad rice for it though. If you really look around you can get a bargain. A mate of mine secured a 92 model R32 GTST coupe manual for 9k with lowered suspension, exhaust, FMIC etc. He was very lucky as the body was perfect as well as the interior and mechanicals. $11 800 is a bit pricey though.

you get wat u pay for....seriously...kays owners blah blah

airconditioning prob could just be from when the gas was drained to import it and no 1 has had it gassed since...

i payed near 15 so everyone stab at that, but i got wat i paid for

goodluck

bbe;

Nah the aircond hasnt been regassed as i said above in the first post. The fan was bringing hot air with just the fan turning no air con on at all.

The electrics have been played with and the whole climate control unit needs to be replaced.

I have given up on this guy and car.

To much of a head f%$k.

OI MR CASTLE. STOP STEALING MY THREAD. LOL.

It's Brenton who gave u that footage from the Rhys Millen Day.

Well yeah over the whole blue 32 now. Just have to wait for the loan to get approved and yes im getting a new car.

It was wise steering clear of the blue 32. If the aircon needs regassing chances are its been like that for a while and most definitely has a leak.

When they sit around for a while ask what bl4ck32 what happens to the ac compressor. :D

bang bang bang bang... Not good.

Enjoy your little 32, they are a great little easy to drive first car.

When (not an IF) you wind the boost up to 14psi or so becareful of that snappy boost curve. :D

oi....yer just like anycar...it dont like sitting.

Seriously id buy a $500 runabout, and save till i could afford the $15k minimum. It sucks balls having a loan over your head -trust me. You wont have a finger to scratch your arse with. And when something does go bang and your car is off the road, u wont have parents over your shoulder saying "

I told u so" for having a car in the driveway that u cant afford to fix cos u can just scrape repayments, let alone maintenace, and add the mods that you WANT to do asap. :D

sorry.....end rant :D

    • I have done smoke test and can’t see any leak on high or low side.   checked pump and fluid can flow through. Removed the high pressure from steering and did smoke test and same on low side, no leak.   puzzled. Thinking why if it was all ok it suddenly went as car was off road for a year. Don’t want to disassemble pump yet as i can see fluid / air( compressor) can flow through with no issues
    • Which manifold mate? Meanwhile......Mark is wondering how bonnet vents would look on the NC 🤣
    • Actually,  just remembered there should be info in the threads (somewhere) about swapping to a manual steering rack and deleting power steering all together.
    • Also had a look at the Nissan JP website looks like the 400r has a slightly shorter ratio than than the regular V37 3.133 VS 2.937 which from a guy who has driven both 3.69 vs 4.11 ratios in the S15 is bugger all. Seems that the AUTO Z runs the same ratio as the 400R but can't find any info as to if its an open or LSD? More often than not the auto LSD is open
    • Do not replace the power steering lines with this stuff. If it's anything like the Chase Bays stuff it will leak and be worse than stock. The reason why the reservoir is on the LH/passenger side of the car is because that's just where the reservoir was most convenient to fit. Don't overthink this stuff. The intake/cold side of the engine is pretty busy on these cars. And again, the hardpipe is designed to be a janky power steering cooler. In theory you can replace it with a real power steering cooler but that's really only for track use where boiling the fluid is a distinct possibility. Start with the low pressure lines feeding the pump from the reservoir. Make sure there isn't a bunch of junk in the reservoir filter. Be careful to not get ATF all over the engine bay. I hate dealing with ATF spills, you can clean it up and the slightest crevice will still release more oil that can still drip over time. You also want to inspect for leaks before you make a mess and can't tell what happened. Most likely you have a leak somewhere that is allowing fluid out and air in. Failing that it's allowing air in but not fluid out. Only place I can really see that happening is on the low pressure side because the pump will pull a slight vacuum to draw fluid in. Everything after the pump is high pressure or lower pressure, approaching atmospheric by the time it returns to the reservoir.
