Hi guys, Skyline and SAU n00b here so be gentle.

I got my first skyline last weekend and after popping the bonnet today I came across a small tube coming from the air intake on the top of the engine. Does anyone know why it would be not connected and why it would have a screw in the end? Also, is it supposed to be connected to the metal tube poking out (see in pictures).

Would this be linked to the idle problem im having aswell? ( I searched and found a HEAP of threads about idle problems but none that know exactly what the problem is). I attached a short movie (6mb) to show the idle problem.

Thanks for your time!

That is the vac line to the BOV.

The previous owner probably disconnected it to give you flutter (does your car flutter?)

You should reconnect it to the BOV, wont do any harm if it doesnt fix the idle problem.

Ahh ok sweet thanks! Yeah it does flutter.

Just saw ur vid...

That idle issue ur having may be the IAC valve....or its called the AAC for the skylines :

The same thing happened to me on my VR Commodore and I just changed the IAC...Although urs doesnt seem to be stalling. So maybe TPS too...???
