both cars that i own have fog lights, ive driven through fog and dont notice how they can help??

but my question is... do you have the head lights off and only the fog lights on when driving through fog??

maybe a simple and general knowledge question but im just after a quick answer..??

They're not to help you, they are to make it easier for you to be seen by other drivers.

You use them as well as your dipped headlights, you don't use full/main beams in fog, as the light just reflects off the fog and blinds you.

Use fog lights only. They are mounted low so they shine under the fog. Headlamps - hi or lo beam - will reflect back off the fog.

this is what i thought because normal or high beams reflect. on coming drivers will see wether you have high beams or not because theyll see a glare of light, but i guess the foglights would still "look" round or square...
