R32/r33 Front Lower Control Arm Track

I believe r34 lower control arms are the same as r33. I got one from a wreckers down in mexico somewhere. I asked for an r33 LH lower control arm and i received an r34 LH lower control arm. It bolted up just fine and everything else did as well.

How that helps your situation, i have no idea. Might help someone else though.

thanks for the replies. mexico is quite far away! (or u mean melbourne)

im actually going to be using the control arms on an s13. i have an s14 control arm on one side, looking for another one is proving difficult. hence why im looking for alternatives. id prefer the extra 10mm track or so the 14 arm gives.

do you have pics of your arms r33 racer?

from what ive heard, the control arm lengths, shortest to longest, with extra length measured in relation to the s13 arm are:

s13

r32gtst +2mm

s14 +10mm

s15 +25mm

not sure about the rest. does anyone know, and can verify these lengths?

Thread bump due to lack of available info about the OP's question........I need to know the actual length of a r33 compared to s13 and also What needs to be changed to fit them ( R33 arms ) to a S13 in relation to the castor arms.

hey mate, i got 33 lca on my 32. fits and uses the same bushing. they are slightly longer then the 32 items, gives wider track and you can get some epic lock. mind you i have removed bump stops and added lock spacers, not fully dialed in yet.

and i have no clearance issues with a 17x9.5

R33/s14 arms are the same and around 10mm longer than s13 , but if you are going to use r33 arms you will need to drill holes for the swaybar links

other than that they bolt up fine as do castor rods

R32 is close in relation to the S13 and R33 is close to GTR.In short, no, won`t fit.

seriously mate... if you have no idea... then please do not post advice... this information is completly wrong.

OP, there are many threads on here and ns.com... do a search and all shall be revealed.

r32 is same as s13

r33 is 15mm longer and is same as s14.

s13 has different ball joints as does s14 but noone really notices from what i can see... im not sure if the r32 balljoint wont fit in the s13 hub but s13 will fit r32, but the actual control arms are the same.

if you have balljoint castor rods, they can bolt up to the r33 control arms, if you dont, you may need to re drill the castor rod holes to fit if you want it to move properly in its arc.

I was thinking of putting some R33 or S14 LCA's into my R32.. and I was just wanting to make sure that S14 ones will be a straight fit and that everything will bolt up?

Also does it matter what S14 it comes from.. as turbo facelift ect ect

Or can I use R33 ones like 32_Dave used or are they not a direct fit.. as some people have said they need to drill holes ect

r33 and s14 would be the same arm and both should bolt up no problem, if ur car is low low you re-drill a hole higher then original to re-gain factory suspension geomatry.

looks like it. if the arm isnt flat you need to get it as close to flat as possibly you will need to do some measuring etc. but its usually around 20mm or even as high as you can get the arm, you should also look into your rear geomatry, it will be f**ked at that height. check simons thread in DIY.

    • Oh, and only having done this task yesterday, I've now driven the car ~60km since, and while it is hard to avoid placebo effect and confirmation bias, I reckon that some annoyances I had with the way the car has been behaving have improved. Which....kinda makes sense, I guess. If the bushes were really stiff and resisting rotation, they would have been contributing to the effective wheel rate. And if it was more so on one side (which it was, because one side was worse than the other) then.... you might imagine that the additional rate would be asymmetric, and potentially even different between compression and rebound. And so... the car has been twitchy at higher speeds - like freeway on ramps. It really shouldn't be. The wheel alignment is good and there are no (other) known problems elsewhere in the suspension. But at 90-100 on a long sweeping ramp, tiny steering wheel motions would make it feel like it wanted to rear steer. Quite nervous. At lower speeds it would heave about in a manner that it didn't use to. Didn't want to put power down, etc etc. Now...seems to behave better. Am going to have to concentrate on the various corners where it has exhibited weirdness, on the rare occasions when I can get a decent run at them without Methanial getting in the way in his D-Max/Ranger/LDV Van/etc.
